The Showdown: Miyo and Kiyoka vs. Naoshi Usui

The episode kicks off where the previous one left off, with Naoshi Usui acknowledging Miyo’s awakening of her Dream Sight powers after she dares to enter his castle. However, Miyo clarifies that her intent is not to enable Naoshi’s vision of an Ideal World but rather to thwart his plans. Naoshi, perceiving Miyo’s lack of growth from past events, decides that she must face consequences.
Standing protectively in front of Miyo, Kiyoka initiates a fierce confrontation with Naoshi. A stunning display of Naoshi’s abilities unfolds as he unleashes an illusory flock of crows. Kiyoka grapples with the line between illusion and reality when Naoshi suddenly charges, brandishing a dagger. A swift clash begins, but Naoshi matches Kiyoka’s every move, hinting at his own formidable prowess.

As the tension escalates, Naoshi manages to land a seemingly real strike across Kiyoka’s chest, only for Kiyoka to realize it’s merely an illusion crafted by Naoshi. The attack not only inflicts physical pain but also wreaks havoc on Kiyoka’s subconscious. Meanwhile, Naoshi taunts him, revealing the destructive potential of these mental illusions.
Miyo, desperate to intervene, finds her path obstructed by Arata Usuba, who threatens her with a firearm. Meanwhile, elsewhere in the battle, Yoshito Godo and his team decisively overcome brainwashed soldiers allied with the Gifted Communion and receive critical information regarding Mikado’s location.

As the narrative unfolds, it is revealed that Mikado resides atop the abandoned former official residence, prompting Yoshito to act while leaving Tadakiyo and others to deal with the aftermath at the castle. Kiyoka, resilient in spirit, continues to attempt to counter Naoshi’s relentless psychological attacks using his own supernatural abilities.
In a dramatic moment, Kiyoka releases a burst of thunder towards Naoshi, only for the latter to evade the attack effortlessly. The ensuing skirmish sees Kiyoka managing to block one dagger, only to be caught off-guard by another illusionary attack that inflicts a minor injury.
Realizing he needs a new strategy, Kiyoka lunges to strike Naoshi, anticipating his next move. However, the Gifted Communion leader counters swiftly, yet Kiyoka is prepared, using his fire abilities to create an opening. Unfortunately, Naoshi employs a shield to deflect the flames, leaving the outcome uncertain.

Miyo Takes a Stand Against Naoshi Usui

As Kiyoka navigates his psychological torment, Miyo steps forward, tapping into her Dream-Sight abilities. She transforms Kiyoka’s harrowing environment into a sanctuary, allowing both Kiyoka and Miyo to engage Naoshi within this surreal dreamscape.
Focused and resolute, Miyo confronts Naoshi, advocating for a change in his behavior and condemning the pain he inflicts. She invokes memories of his past relationship with her mother, Sumi, emphasizing that she would disapprove of his current violent path.

Despite her attempts to appeal to him, Naoshi remains steadfast in his beliefs, asserting that a world devoid of Sumi is unworthy of existence. In a moment of heated confrontation, Miyo slaps Naoshi, forcing him to confront his past. In retaliation, Naoshi shrouds the dreamscape in oppressive darkness.
Just as hopelessness begins to settle, Sumi’s ethereal presence appears, illuminating the darkened dream world. Naoshi is momentarily captivated by Sumi’s image, yet her unreadable expression unveils the conflict between their shared history and his transgressions against her family.

Though recognizing the familial bond, Sumi expresses the need for Naoshi to cease his malevolent actions. Naoshi’s response is disheartening; his love and memories of Sumi compel him to seek annihilation of the world, as it now serves no purpose without her.
Sumi’s silence is eventually broken as she discharges Naoshi from his perceived duty as her “protective sword,”urging him to join her instead. However, overwhelmed with despair, he plunges a dagger into his own chest, severing ties with both his reality and torment.

As the dream landscape crumbles, Miyo finds herself ensnared in a bizarre environment echoed by the sound of ticking clocks. Here, Sumi’s voice guides her, conveying that a new era’s gears have begun to spin, assuring Miyo that everything will eventually be alright and praising her for her bravery.
Upon regaining consciousness, Miyo witnesses Naoshi, bloodied and feeble, moving towards Kiyoka as he falters under the weight of his illusions. In a critical moment, Arata Usuba draws his firearm, firing simultaneously as Naoshi hurls his dagger. The shots intersect, afflicting both men—Naoshi collapses, succumbing to fatal injuries as Arata bears the wound of the encounter.

A frantic Miyo rushes to help Arata while Kiyoka calls for medical assistance. In his fading moments, Naoshi’s consciousness blurs, replaced by visions of Sumi, who reaches out to him in a bittersweet farewell.
In a haunting parallel to their childhood, Naoshi and Sumi begin their final journey together—this time toward the afterlife. As the medic arrives to aid the wounded Arata, Kiyoka solemnly confirms the reality of Naoshi Usui’s demise. Overwhelmed with grief, Miyo expresses her frustrations about the repercussions of supernatural powers that foster conflict and suffering among individuals.
Although she holds the potential to change future outcomes, regret surfaces as she questions her inability to fulfill her mother’s wishes. Comforted by Kiyoka, who reassures her of her efforts, the episode concludes with the couple reuniting with their allies, ready to face whatever lies ahead in the next chapter of their journey.
