Meanwhile, Lord Takakura speculates about Kiyoka’s whereabouts, suspecting he is at the Headquarters now overtaken by the Gifted Communion. This group has successfully captured the key positions of power, utilizing force to establish control. The special Anti-Grotesquerie Unit’s pursuit of Kiyoka faltered after engaging in a fierce battle with the Gifted Communion, leaving them scattered. Thankfully, the navy was deployed elsewhere during this crisis, allowing Prince Takaihito to call for their assistance in expelling the intruders.

As Takakura updates Miyo on palace security enhancements, she inquires about Prince Takaihito’s well-being. While he reassures her, he deeply feels the weight of concern for Kiyoka, given their brotherly bond. In the meantime, Yurie and Hazuki stall Miyo’s plans to venture out for her own safety.

Resolving to act independently and prevent further danger to her loved ones, Miyo makes an attempt to escape the palace in search of Kiyoka. As she prepares to leave, she is confronted by the young boy from the opening scene, who critiques her plan as reckless.

The narrative pivots back to Miyo as she seeks guidance from her grandfather, Yoshiro, hoping to learn how to unlock her powers. Yoshiro expresses his reluctance, fearing Miyo may fall into the same destructive patterns as Naoshi or Arata, asserting that raw power alone won’t resolve the challenges they face.

As their conversation unfolds, Miyo probes into the Usuba family’s history, prompting Yoshiro to reveal the dark truths surrounding Naoshi Usui’s upbringing. He explains that Naoshi belonged to a minor branch of the Usuba and recounts the traumatic events that led to his powers being sealed.

Naoshi experienced a pivotal moment of tragedy during his childhood when the Usuba family took him in after his biological parents were murdered by intruders. In a surge of power activated by desperation, Naoshi retaliated, ultimately leading to the decision by the elders to seal his abilities for fear of his sadistic tendencies.

However, it was Miyo’s mother, Sumi, who helped temper Naoshi’s darker impulses, allowing him to reclaim his powers. The community believed that Naoshi and Sumi would eventually marry and lead the Usuba into its next era. But fate had other plans; with the emperor’s intervention leading to economic decline for the Tsuruki trading family, the Saimori, in exchange for financial stability, sought to marry Sumi, a choice that devastated Naoshi.

Despite Sumi’s decision made to protect their family, Naoshi, heartbroken, vanished without a trace. The episode then returns to Miyo, who recounts Naoshi’s objective to awaken her powers and its connection to her mother. Yoshiro presents Miyo with “The Tome of Dream-Sight,”a sacred volume that promises insight into unlocking her abilities.

In reading the tome, Miyo learns that awakening her Dream-Sight powers demands an intrinsic connection driven by her feelings. That night, she experiences another vivid dream involving memories of her mother and Naoshi.

In these dreams, Miyo confronts her mother, who expresses remorse for burdening her with such difficult realizations. The dream shifts, revealing Sumi’s plead to Naoshi to stop his violent ways. Sumi harbored aspirations to become a Maiden of Dream-Sight, unveiling her deep desire to contest the ancestral Usuba rules.

Faced with these revelations, Miyo questions her mother about her chances to prevent Naoshi from further destruction.
