MrBeast Files Lawsuit Against Ex-Employee for Theft of Company Secrets and Installation of Hidden Cameras

Recently, news has surfaced about YouTube sensation Jimmy “MrBeast,”who has initiated legal proceedings against a former employee, Leroy Nabors. According to a report by Polygon, Nabors is accused of stealing sensitive information and installing covert cameras in MrBeast’s headquarters located in Greenville, North Carolina.

Nabors was appointed in 2023, initially managing the servers that hosted MrBeast’s post-production content. Later that year, he transitioned to a “special projects”team, which dealt with content creation, fundraising efforts, and political advocacy.

Insights from MrBeast’s representation indicate that Nabors had significant access to proprietary information due to his influential position. Allegations claim that he downloaded upwards of a thousand confidential files, encompassing both financial records and private employee information.

Delving Deeper into the Lawsuit

The lawsuit document, which has been made available on Scribd by Polygon, reveals that Nabors failed to return the confidential documents, which include critical financial and employee data.

Moreover, according to the legal filing, Nabors purportedly breached a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) by neglecting to return company assets and wiping clean his laptop in an attempt to hide his actions.

Notably, the legal documents also allege that Nabors’s daughter’s business, Vine Networks LLC, retained access to MrBeast’s IT infrastructure even after his dismissal.

  • Compensatory damages as justified by the evidence.
  • A permanent injunction mandating the return of all misappropriated company information.
  • Punitive and exemplary damages as permitted by law.
  • Coverage of attorney’s fees and associated costs.
  • Prejudgment and post-judgment interest.
  • Any additional relief deemed appropriate by the court.

This lawsuit comes on the heels of another controversy for MrBeast, who himself faced legal action in September 2024. He and Amazon Studios were subject to a class-action lawsuit filed by five unnamed participants in Beast Games. The claims included allegations of unfair business practices, inadequate wage payments, interruption of meal breaks, and incidents of sexual harassment. MrBeast has strongly refuted these claims, labeling them as exaggerated.
