Mizkif Addresses “Nuisance Streamer” Allegations in Japan: “Words are Irrelevant”

Mizkif Responds to “Nuisance Streamer”Allegations

During a livestream on April 10, 2025, popular Twitch streamer Matthew “Mizkif”addressed accusations labeling him as a “nuisance streamer.”Mizkif emphasized his preference for letting his actions speak for themselves rather than discussing the allegations. He encouraged viewers to tune into his streams to form their own opinions, distancing himself from the negative characterization presented by some critics.

Recent Controversies in Japan

Since relocating to Japan earlier this year, Mizkif has encountered various controversies, most notably a recent incident involving pull-ups on cherry blossom trees, which prompted significant backlash. In response, he issued an apology and subsequently removed related videos from his social media platforms.

His Reaction to the Criticism

In addressing the criticisms, Mizkif remarked:

“I’m not just gonna sit here and talk about things. There’s no point. I think words are irrelevant. They’ve always been irrelevant. I think actions are the most important thing. I’m not gonna pretend that in the past two months, I have been a nuisance. Or that we have been a nuisance.”

Learning Experiences from Streaming in Japan

He further highlighted the valuable insights gained from his experiences in Japan:

“We have learnt a lot about Japan. We have done a lot of streams about Japan. And if people want to say that I am a nuisance, then they can watch the streams and see that I am not. So, we just keep moving.”

Support from Japanese YouTuber CrazyJapanese

While live streaming with the renowned Japanese YouTuber Tanuki, known as “CrazyJapanese,”Mizkif sought to clarify cultural expectations before visiting Japan.

“So just to be clear for people on Twitter, they should know all these things before they come to Japan right? Cause that’s what they said, that I should know all the things about the culture before I come to Japan.”

In her response, Tanuki pointed out that even many Japanese individuals are not fully versed in all cultural nuances. She further expressed the importance of Mizkif’s role as a prominent international streamer, suggesting that his positive influence could resonate well in Japan:

“We don’t really have a lot of like IRL streaming and a traveling streamer like you… like big and then you have a good influence. Whatever you say, the good things about Japan, people would listen.”

Additional Controversies

Further stirring the pot, Mizkif was recently criticized for referring to Japanese individuals as “NPCs,”shortly after the cherry blossom incident. He has yet to publicly address this particular remark.

Broader Streaming Environment

In related industry news, fellow streamer xQc accused associates of Kai Cenat of engaging in view-botting practices on Twitch. He claimed to have observed sudden, suspicious spikes in viewer numbers, raising questions about the integrity of streaming metrics.
