Minecraft 2025: Upcoming Game Release to Bring Back a Classic Forgotten Mob

Minecraft Live concluded recently, surprising fans with exciting developments for the game. Mojang Studios is redirecting its focus towards refining existing features and mechanics, rather than merely introducing new biomes or mobs. The aim for 2025 is to enhance player experiences by improving elements that are already part of the game.

One particular mob under review is the infamous ghast, known for its capacity to frustrate newcomers exploring the Nether. Although these flying foes have garnered a reputation as one of the most troublesome entities in the game, an exhilarating transformation is on the horizon with the introduction of a friendlier variant of the ghast. Here’s a closer look at this new mob variant and its unique characteristics.

Introducing the New Ghast Variants in Minecraft

Known as the ambiguous flying terror of the Nether, the ghast is set to receive three new variants with the upcoming update:

  • The Dried Ghast
  • Ghastling
  • Happy Ghast

The dried ghast, interestingly enough, is not a creature but a block. Players can discover it near fossils and transport it to the overworld. Once in hand, players should place the block in water. Over time, this transformation process will spawn a cute and diminutive mob known as the ghastling.

As with any mob in Minecraft, the ghastling requires nourishment. To promote its growth, players must feed it snowballs, which ties seamlessly into its lore—once dehydrated in the Nether, it now relies on cold water for survival.

Ultimately, the ghastling will mature into a full-sized ghast, but this one will be distinguished as the happy ghast. Players can equip a harness onto their new companion, enabling four players to soar through the skies together.

Creating this harness in Minecraft requires crafting with two glass blocks, one wool block, and three pieces of leather. This addition not only brings novel mob variants into play, but also introduces fresh gameplay mechanics that enhance the overall experience.

An appealing feature of the happy ghast is that players can construct while riding it, making the building of towering structures in Survival mode much more manageable. The ability to fly creates an exciting dynamic for exploration, offering a new layer of agility compared to simply walking or running.
