Midnight Heart Anime Set for 2026 Release: Watch the Promotional Video and Get the Latest Updates

On March 14, 2025, NBC Universal made a significant announcement regarding the production of the highly-anticipated anime series Tune In to the Midnight Heart. The show is set for a release window in 2026 and will be adapted from the original manga created by renowned mangaka Masakuni Igarashi. Alongside the production news, fans were treated to a teaser promotional video and an eye-catching key visual that provided a glimpse into the anime’s world.

Currently, further details about Tune In to the Midnight Heart remain scarce. The teaser video included minimal dialogue towards its conclusion, but the voices behind the characters have yet to be disclosed. The visual presentation showcased characters in what appears to be a classroom setting, setting up intrigue for what’s to come.

Teaser Trailer Highlights Future Cast Dynamics

The teaser trailer opens on a young boy who finds solace in conversations with a mysterious figure named Apollo, whose identity remains hidden under a pillow. The narrative quickly transitions to introduce four female characters, culminating in the reveal of the anime’s title logo as the now older boy meets these girls.

In the latter part of the trailer, multiple voices are heard simultaneously, creating an intriguing atmosphere as the release date approaches. The characters are introduced as follows: Rikka Inohana, who aspires to be a singer; Nene Himekawa, an aspiring voice actor; Iko Kirino, who aims to become a VTuber; and Shinobu Uzuki, an aspiring announcer. The boy, who seems pivotal to the story, is left unnamed in this promotional content.

Interestingly, the key visual omits the boy from its depiction, focusing solely on the four girls as they interact in a classroom environment. While no additional insights about the production have been made public, there is plenty of rich content in Igarashi’s source material to explore. The manga has been serializing in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since September 2023 and continues to engage readers today.

As of now, 58 out of the current 68 chapters have been compiled into eight volumes, with the first English volume set to release on May 6, 2025. For those interested in following the series, it is available digitally in English via Kodansha’s K MANGA service. The official synopsis of the manga is as follows:

“When Arisu Yamabuki was all alone in bed at night, he was able to find solace in the voice of a radio host who went by “Apollo.” However, one day, she simply stopped broadcasting without any explanation. Years then passed, and Arisu is now a second-year high-schooler. He makes it his mission to search for Apollo, as there is something he wants to tell her. He doesn’t know what she looks like, or even what her real name is, but he manages to get some leads on her in his school’s broadcasting club. That’s where he meets four girls who all dream to get a job where they can make full use of their voices! Just who is Apollo, and how will those four’s dreams pan out?”
