Melissa Rivers Celebrates Love: A Look at Her Wedding to Steve Mitchel
On March 15, 2025, Melissa Rivers, the daughter of iconic comedian Joan Rivers, tied the knot with attorney Steve Mitchel in a charming ceremony at the Four Seasons in Wyoming. The joyous occasion was graced by approximately 150 guests, making it a heartfelt gathering for family and friends.
Among the attendees was Edgar Cooper Endicott, Melissa’s son from her first marriage to John Endicott. Edgar shared a touching message directed at his new stepfather, urging Steve to support Melissa’s desire to live life on her terms.
The couple’s festivities featured lively music, including the popular hit “Burning Down the House,”with guests joyfully joining in to sing classics like “Country Roads.”Melissa recounted to People magazine that her initial wedding plans were derailed by the wildfires in Los Angeles earlier that year. She explained how the event unfolded:
“That’s when my friends stepped in and said, ‘We are doing this.’ Because a number of people who are coming lost their homes too, and they were like, ‘Thank God we have this to look forward to.’ I also knew that we were all going to want to go away for a weekend to get out of all this chaos and rest our brains.”
The menu at the wedding was equally impressive, offering a variety of delectable dishes to satisfy all palates. Guests enjoyed gourmet options including beef tenderloin, chicken in mushroom cream sauce, Korean fried chicken sliders, charred Brussels sprouts, and much more.
How Melissa and Steve’s Love Story Began
Steve Mitchel, whose professional details remain largely private, first crossed paths with Melissa at the Didi Hirsch Mental Health and Suicide Prevention event in 2023. Initially, Melissa had no plans to remarry after her separation from John Endicott. However, the chemistry with Steve changed her perspective. In an interview with E! News, Melissa shared the pivotal moment their relationship blossomed:
“What we always say is he grounds me, and I make him fun. He’s like, ‘I’ve never been more popular. Like, everyone wants to go out and do stuff.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, ‘cause I’m fun.'”
The couple became engaged during a romantic getaway at the One & Only Mandarina Resort in Mexico later that same year. Melissa expressed her excitement about this new chapter, indicating that it was a significant milestone for them both and revealing that her mother approved of the engagement ring.
While discussing their future, Melissa clarified that she and Steve were not in a rush to plan a wedding. Although she hinted at a possible celebration in 2025, she reflected on her past experience, noting:
“If we do a ceremony and party I can’t imagine it being any time before 2025. I can guarantee it will be nothing like my first wedding or anything on that level.”
Melissa Rivers is well-known for her hosting roles on various television shows, including MTV’s Spring Break ’93 and Blind Date, as well as her appearances on Fashion Police and In Bed with Joan.
