Medalist Season 2 Production Announced, Release Date Pending

The announcement for Medalist Season 2 came just after the finale of Season 1 on March 29, 2025. The promotional video, which spans approximately one minute, primarily features highlights from the inaugural season. It concludes with on-screen text that confirms the production of the second season.

In the key visual, fans will notice protagonist Inori Yuitsuka alongside her coach Tsukasa Akeuraji, both prominently displayed. This visual also includes various supporting characters from the first season, suggesting their return in the upcoming season. While there are no new characters introduced yet, fans can anticipate future promotional releases that may reveal exciting additions to the cast.

Additionally, Tsurumaikada’s celebratory illustration showcases Inori and Tsukasa joyfully signaling the production of the second season with peace signs. Alongside this imagery, there is text presumably outlining the details of Medalist Season 2 and comments from Tsurumaikada himself.

The first season of the anime was skillfully directed by Yatsutaka Yamamoto at ENGI studios, with Jukki Hanada responsible for the series composition and script. Character designs were handled by Chinatsu Kameyama, while Yuki Hayashi composed the music. As of now, no updates on the production staff for Season 2 have been made public. The opening theme “Bow and Arrow” by Kenshi Yonezu and the ending theme “Atashi no Dress” (translated to “My Dress”) performed by Neguse were highlights of the first season’s soundtrack.

Since its serialization began in May 2020 in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine, Tsurumaikada’s original manga continues to captivate audiences and is still ongoing. Currently, the series has been compiled into 12 volumes, with 11 volumes available in English digitally. Ten of those are also published in print. The manga has garnered several prestigious awards, further solidifying its status as a noteworthy title in recent years.
