The Pokémon GO Catch Mastery Archen event is a special one-day celebration dedicated to the very first Bird Pokémon. Taking place on March 16, 2025, this event introduces trainers to Archen, the Generation V Rock- and Flying-type Fossil Pokémon. Throughout the day, players will have opportunities to encounter Archen through themed Field Research, Timed Research, and a paid Timed Research option. Additionally, two other Fossil Pokémon will appear as wild encounters.
In tandem with the Catch Mastery Archen event, Pokémon GO trainers are currently partaking in the vibrant festivities of the Festival of Colors 2025, which marks the introduction of Shiny Bruxish. There’s also a chance to spot a Shiny Smeargle, adding an extra thrill for lucky trainers during this celebration.

Date, Time, and Event Bonuses
This engaging event will unfold on Sunday, March 16, 2025, running from 10 AM to 8 PM local time. Trainers can look forward to the following bonuses during the event:
- Higher chances of encountering Shiny Omanyte, Shiny Kabuto, and Shiny Archen.
- Double XP for successfully capturing Pokémon with Nice Throws or better.
- Double XP for catching Pokémon using Curveball Throws.
Wild Encounters and Themed Research
During the Catch Mastery Archen event, trainers can expect an increased spawn rate for the following wild encounters:
- Omanyte (Shiny variant available)
- Kabuto (Shiny variant available)
Participants can also engage in themed Field Research, Timed Research, and a Paid Timed Research option available for just $2.00, allowing trainers to complete quests and earn exciting rewards.
