Marvel Rivals Unveils Star-Lord’s ‘King of Spartax’ Costume
In an exciting development, Marvel Rivals has released fresh gameplay footage showcasing the upcoming King of Spartax skin for Star-Lord, set to launch on April 11 as part of the new Season 2 rollout. NetEase Games has also confirmed that this season will introduce Emma Frost as the latest Vanguard character to join the hero shooter.
As part of its commitment to keeping players engaged, NetEase Games plans to revamp its seasonal structure beginning with Season 3. The new format will reduce the duration of seasons to two months while maintaining the same quality and quantity of content. This change will allow players to enjoy new heroes in Marvel Rivals on a monthly basis, rather than the previous six-week intervals, enhancing the gaming experience by minimizing wait times for updates.
“Long Live the King! Star-Lord has been crowned ruler of the mighty Spartax Empire, and he’s ready to rock the galaxy! Inspired by Peter Quill’s epic ascension in Guardians of the Galaxy (2015) #1, the King of Spartax costume arrives in Marvel Rivals to celebrate Season 2!” — Marvel Rivals (@MarvelRivals) April 4, 2025
Star-Lord’s new costume reflects the regal aesthetic of the Spartax Empire, featuring an elegant black and gold ensemble complemented by intricate detailing including golden buttons and the Guardians’ emblem pin. Additionally, Emma Frost will join the festivities with her X-Revolution skin, bringing a striking black and gold design to the game. This costume, which shows a more mature look for the character with an elongated hairstyle, will also include a diamond “X” ring that complements her outfit’s theme.
For players keen on obtaining cosmetics without spending money, an opportunity to earn the Chaos Gown skin for Scarlet Witch is available through gameplay. To earn this skin, players need to complete nine matches during Season 2. Moreover, in-game leaks suggest the potential for new skins, such as Namor’s Will of Galacta, to be part of Twitch Drops linked to the Hellfire Gala event. With this plethora of new content set to arrive on April 11, excitement is palpable among the Marvel Rivals community.

As the Marvel Rivals community anticipates the launch of Season 2, the positive outlook among its players regarding recent developments is impossible to ignore. Stay tuned as more details about future content continue to emerge.
