The story escalates when their village is besieged by mercenaries searching for Yuru, whose twin sister Asa, although raised in separation from her, soon finds herself embroiled in this adventure.

These entities encompass a rich lore, with terms spanning from ‘Ghosts’ and ‘Yokai’ to ‘Monsters’ and ‘Aliens’; collectively referred to as ‘The Opposites.’

Since December 2021, the manga has been serialized in Square Enix’s Monthly Shōnen Gangan and currently boasts nine volumes. In July 2022, Square Enix Manga & Books announced plans to release an English translation of the series, with the latest volume (#8) anticipated for July release. “Daemons of the Shadow Realm”has not only resonated well with audiences but has also been nominated for several prestigious awards, including:
