Lana Del Rey Releases New Single “Henry, Come On”Ahead of Upcoming Album
Lana Del Rey has made a highly anticipated return to the music scene with her latest single, “Henry, Come On,” released on Friday. This track marks the first single from her forthcoming 10th studio album, The Right Person Will Stay.
Exciting Teaser and Collaborations
In January 2024, Del Rey ignited excitement by sharing a tantalizing teaser of the song on Instagram, acknowledging country music’s prominent songwriter and producer, Luke Laird. The song features Del Rey’s signature sound, with lyrics like “I mean Henry, come on / Do you think I’d really choose it?” layered over a melodious string accompaniment. She forewarns with: “Last call, hey, y’all / Hang his hat up on the wall / Tell him that his cowgirl is gone / Come on and giddyup.”
Announcing a New Direction in Music
Del Rey revealed her 10th album, The Right Person Will Stay, in a heartfelt Instagram post in November, expressing gratitude to collaborators Laird, Jack Antonoff, Zachary Dawes, and Drew Erickson for their “beautiful work” on the album, which boasts 13 tracks. Earlier this year, she hinted at a country project titled Lasso, but it seems those plans have evolved. Nevertheless, her forthcoming album will still embrace country influences, a nod to her headline performance at Stagecoach 2025, scheduled for April 25.
Looking Forward to Stagecoach 2025
Following her unforgettable headlining set at Coachella in 2023, Del Rey has teased her upcoming Stagecoach 2025 performance on Instagram. She promised fans “a very special country set” featuring new material, likely including tracks from The Right Person Will Stay. In a recent post, she reflected on her journey, stating, “This has been such a crazy nine months and I’m so blessed that come the 25th, it will have been a year since I got to headline Coachella.” She thanked the Stagecoach festival team for the opportunity to debut her new songs.
Album Release and Grammy Nominations
The Right Person Will Stay is set to release on May 21, 2024, and will follow Del Rey’s critically acclaimed album, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, which garnered five nominations at the 66th Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year and Album of the Year.
With her unique blend of alternative pop and emerging country influences, Lana Del Rey continues to evolve as an artist, maintaining her place in the spotlight.
