Kore Kaite Shine Manga to Get Exciting Anime Adaptation

On March 21, 2025, Shogakukan made an exciting announcement regarding an anime adaptation of Minoru Toyoda’s critically acclaimed manga Kore Kaite Shine. The adaptation will air on Nippon Television, and an announcement visual has already been released.

The Kore Kaite Shine manga, crafted by Toyoda, has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine since November 2021. It has earned several prestigious accolades, including the 16th Manga Taisho award in 2023 and the 70th Shogakukan Manga Award in 2025. The series has also been compiled into six volumes, highlighting its rapid acclaim and popularity.

Anime Announcement Visual Released

The official account of Monthly Shonen Sunday on X (formerly Twitter) confirmed the news of the anime adaptation. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Izu Ojima, an island located approximately 120 kilometers south of Tokyo, the story centers around Ai Yasumi, a high school student with a passion for manga.

While specific details regarding the release date and production team have yet to be announced, fans have received a teaser visual that showcases the captivating essence of the story. The image features Ai Yasumi against a backdrop reminiscent of Izu Oshima, Toyoda’s hometown, and also introduces another character, Pakota.

The teaser visual features the compelling tagline, “For everyone who loves manga,”resonating with the story’s core theme and its target audience.

In an insightful comment during the announcement, creator Minoru Toyoda expressed his hopes for the adaptation, emphasizing the need to showcase the island’s natural beauty. He stated,

“I want you to think about the beauty of the island first.”

After collaborating with the production team, Toyoda felt optimistic about the adaptation, looking forward to witnessing the island come to life in the animated format. Just like his dedicated fans, he eagerly awaits the completion of the anime project.
