Are you seeking ways to increase your health charges in The First Berserker: Khazan? The key lies in locating the elusive Netherworld Energy orbs dispersed throughout the game’s expansive regions. These orbs are essential; they allow Khazan to heal, starting you off with three initial charges. By tracking down more orbs, you can expand your capacity to a total of nine health charges, significantly enhancing your survival odds amid the game’s numerous challenges.
During your adventure, the importance of these Netherworld Energy orbs magnifies, particularly when facing formidable mid- to late-game bosses. It’s crucial to note that the upgrade for your first Netherworld Energy charge occurs only after vanquishing Blade Phantom and reaching the Embars Ruins. Consequently, players begin with just three charges to familiarize themselves with game mechanics. If you progress to the later bosses without acquiring additional Netherworld Energy, it is advisable to revisit earlier areas to collect these vital resources.

Khazan Starts With Three, But You’ll Have To Track Down Five On Your Own

Initially, players receive three Netherworld Energy orbs that are vital for healing. This resource acts as one of your primary lifelines, especially in the early stages of the game when other health-restoring abilities are limited. Though minor health replenishing items, like Soul Tear Dust, exist, prioritizing your Vitality stat early on in The First Berserker: Khazan and reserving Netherworld Energy charges for critical moments is advisable, as these scenarios are frequent.
After overcoming the initial hurdles, players can obtain five additional Netherworld Energy orbs while engaging in various story missions. Collecting these enhances your chances against tough opponents like Elamein or Trokka. In total, you can acquire up to nine Netherworld Energy health charges, with the ninth charge awarded through a gear set bonus from the Ashen Wolf set. The following table outlines the various locations and missions where you can find these orbs:

Where To Find Every Netherworld Energy Upgrade
Embars Ruins Netherworld Energy Location

Your first Netherworld Energy upgrade can be found in Embars Ruins. Start at the Forgotten Temple Entrance and ascend the large staircase until you reach a chamber featuring a red-lit area and another staircase. Continue upstairs, turning right at the top to navigate through a metal gate.
Once in this area, check your immediate right for an opening in the balustrade. Drop through this gap to find the Bard on your left, where you can purchase useful items. Following this, climb the stairs to collect the glowing Netherworld Energy at the end of the bridge.
Skoffa Cave Netherworld Energy Location

Begin at the Collapsed Mine Blade Nexus in Skoffa Cave, climb the ladder diligently while fending off any bats waiting to knock you off. Scale the scaffolding and either confront or evade the spider enemies. At the top of the main route, you’ll encounter a fork in the beams; choose the left path to ultimately locate the Netherworld Energy at the beam’s peak.
El Ravaca Village Netherworld Energy Location

From the Underground Water Facility Blade Nexus, descend the ladder into the chamber with the Revenant Devourer. You might want to sprint past this aquatic beast to avoid inducing hallucinations, climbing the ladders to access the pipe system next. Follow the pipe without veering off; upon exiting, turn left and navigate through spider-ridden rooms until you see a ladder ascending to another pipe. Take every left until you finally find the Netherworld Energy situated in a room littered with corpses.
Wastus Canyon Netherworld Energy Location

At the Destroyed Ruins Blade Nexus, acquire this Netherworld Energy upgrade by venturing straight ahead past the pulsating red trees. Before you exit this tree-laden area, take the path on the left instead of proceeding through the gate to collect this glowing orb nestled next to several jars.
Great Temple Underground Ruins

Starting from the Forbidden Passage Blade Nexus, navigate up the stairs and turn left into a hallway. Proceed left again until reaching a room adorned with statues across an opening. Continue left and traverse the pathway leading to a ladder situated in front of an imposing statue. Follow the newly revealed path until you spot a hole in the floor, dropping down into the plague-riddled area to surprise the enemy waiting below.
Equip yourself with Plague Resistance Elixirs and Plague Cleanse Potions while exploring the depths of the Great Temple Underground Ruins. After clearing this area, journey through the door and follow the bloodied water until reaching a fork, where you should turn right. Upon entering another room, proceed through the door on the right, following the path until you see a glowing pink item in front of you. Make another right to find yourself on the upper level of your previous location, circle around to collect the glowing Netherworld Energy.
How To Get The Ashen Wolf Set
The Ashen Wolf Set Gives Khazan An Extra Netherworld Charge

The Ashen Wolf set is your final hope for additional Netherworld Energy charges. This set is relatively easy to craft early on from the blacksmith in The First Berserker: Khazan, and equipping all five pieces grants an extra Netherworld Energy charge. It’s the sole means by which players can achieve a total of nine Netherworld Energy charges. The scroll for the Ashen Wolf set can be located in Phraugh Village while accessing the Central Storehouse Entrance during the “First Act of Revenge”mission.
As you naturally progress through the game, you are likely to acquire most of these Netherworld Energy charges, as they are not far from the main paths. Even if the Ashen Wolf set provides an extra charge, keep in mind that it is primarily designed for greatsword users, which may not align with all play styles. Personally, I believe that eight charges are more than sufficient to tackle even the most daunting late-stage bosses. Nonetheless, even if the greatsword isn’t used to its fullest potential, the versatility of the Ashen Wolf set remains beneficial.
