To protect her, Samura ultimately decided to send Iori to stay with Inori’s sister, ensuring her safety.

Unraveling Yura’s Intentions in Kagurabachi Chapter 74

Continuing from where the previous chapter left off, Kagurabachi Chapter 74, titled “Dawn,” commences with Samura receiving an urgent call from Kamunabi regarding the murder of Kunishige Rokuhira. During this communication, they inform him that all the Enchanted Blades have been stolen, putting the Contracted Sword bearers in grave jeopardy.

Kamunabi further states they will dispatch bodyguards to ensure Samura’s safe arrival at the headquarters. As the chapter unfolds, he hears a sudden ring at the door, only to discover Yura standing on the threshold, surrounded by the lifeless bodies of Kamunabi’s bodyguards.

In a chilling exchange, Yura nonchalantly inquires if Samura remembers him. Upon seeing the corpses, Samura questions Yura’s involvement in Kunishige’s demise. Yura introduces himself as a Hishaku, revealing that he is indeed here with plans to eliminate the Sword Bearers.

Yura declares that he has already dispatched another Hishaku, but he determines to negotiate with Samura due to his organization’s limited manpower. This raises Samura’s suspicions about Yura’s intentions and the possible repercussions of his refusal.

Feeling a surge of anger, Samura confronts Yura. He is reluctant to embrace the future foretold by Yura, believing that as long as the seal on the Shinuchi remains intact, stability in their world can be upheld. For Samura, Yura and his group pose a direct threat to this stability.

The plot then shifts to Yura, who reflects on the flowers caused by the Shinuchi’s Malediction, still blooming on the small island despite the sword being sheathed. This peculiar phenomenon indicates that the Sword Master’s Bloodlust persists, a stark reminder of past horrors.

Moreover, Yura asserts that both the Sword Saint and the Shinuchi have already wreaked havoc beyond imagination, capable of dismantling Samura’s perceived “stability”effortlessly. Yura argues that rather than facing the truth, the Contracted Sword Bearers prefer to live in denial, which Yura identifies as Samura’s most significant sin.

With a plan to execute the Sword Master and harness the Shinuchi, Yura seeks to obliterate the Malediction it unleashed. He then queries Samura about the whereabouts of his daughter.

Samura responds, acknowledging that his association with her has only subjected Iori to suffering. Yura offers him a chance for redemption. Internally, Samura grapples with the difficulty of deciphering Yura’s true motives, while simultaneously recognizing that allowing the Hishaku to roam freely with the Enchanted Blades would spell disaster.

Amidst this turmoil, he recalls the existence of an additional Malediction as long as the Sword Master breathes, leading him to reluctantly ally with the Hishaku and ponder the implications of their future.

The focus then transitions to Iori, who reflects on her past six months living under the protection of Kamunabi and her aunt, following Kunishige’s death. During this period, she encounters Rou and others from the Masumi group, who encourage her to embrace a new identity that erases her past.

Iori’s recollections culminate in a poignant monologue, in which she reflects on her time as Seiichi Samura’s daughter. Among her memories is a sorrowful note from her father, where he expresses his regret for being the source of her pain. The scene then snaps back to the present, revealing Iori deep in thought.

As Rou expresses disbelief over the seal being broken, Hiruhiko tends to an injury sustained during his confrontation with Chihiro Rokuhira. Confirming his arm’s condition, he deems it unnecessary to seek treatment, opting instead to request his Enchanted Blades from Toto.

While Iori fends off attackers with impressive agility, Chihiro probes her about her swordsmanship training. She concedes that she has learned from Samura but has only recently wielded a proper blade. Despite her nervousness, she steadies herself, keeping her eyes shut to avoid distraction.

As Iori reflects on her desire to grow stronger, she dreams of reuniting with her father. She questions Chihiro if her father’s influence could be responsible for the recent darkening of the sky. Chihiro hints that Samura may be observing them from afar, yet cautions that he is currently on an important mission.

Torn by concerns over whether her emotions will ever connect with her father, Iori grapples with feelings of insignificance. Meanwhile, Chihiro recalls Rou’s warning that Samura will not hesitate to eliminate him if he resorts to using Enten again.

In another scene, Toto cautions Hiruhiko about the consequences he will face should he wield the Enchanted Blade against Samura. Despite his training, Hiruhiko feels unprepared to confront Samura given his current state.

However, he is undeterred by the challenge, sensing that Chihiro is ready to draw his sword. Chihiro reassures Iori that her feelings towards Samura hold meaning, reinforcing her resolve. The chapter escalates to an intense climax as Chihiro and Hiruhiko simultaneously draw their Enchanted Blades.

As they unsheathe their weapons, a remarkable phenomenon occurs: the sky begins to clear. The chapter concludes dramatically with Seiichi Samura descending from above, wings as dark as those of a fallen angel, hinting at the powerful conflicts yet to arise.
