“Judge’s Ruling Was Absurd”: Karl Jobst Alleges “Clear Bias” in Defamation Trial Verdict Against Billy Mitchell

YouTuber Karl Jobst faced a major setback recently, losing $350,000 in a defamation lawsuit against fellow internet figure Billy Mitchell. This legal conflict began in 2020 when Jobst publicly criticized Mitchell’s gaming accomplishments and the legitimacy of his Guinness World Records, which ultimately led to the lawsuit. Following the verdict, Jobst expressed discontent, claiming the judge exhibited bias in his ruling and describing the decision as “ridiculous.”

During a conversation on Discord, an anonymous user shared their perspective on the lawsuit, suggesting that the judge acted within the legal framework and sought to make a fair ruling. However, Jobst disagreed, elaborating on his viewpoint:

“Oh, the judge was ridiculous in his judgment. You’d have to look at previous cases with similar awards. They all have doctor’s testimonies backing up any health harm etc. or specialists confirmed xyz. Billy just said he was hurt. That is absolutely not sufficient for an award this high. And there was clear bias. He unnecessarily attacked me many times for things that had nothing to do with the complaint.”

Karl Jobst’s Perspective on Judicial Fairness

Jobst continued to express his frustration with the legal process, referencing a previous lawsuit where a similar decision was reached without substantial expert testimony. He stated:

“There was a similar award last year but the guy had multiple doctor testimonies who diagnosed multiple health issues due to the statements etc. And he’d been seeing doctors for years about it. It is ridiculous to just go and say you were hurt without any expert testimony and get this kind of judgement. It had nothing to do with reality other than the judge wanted to make an example out of me, which is not a justifiable reason.”

The court’s findings also labeled Jobst as reckless in making his allegations. He drew a controversial connection between Billy Mitchell’s lawsuit and the tragic death of fellow YouTuber Apollo Legend. For context, Legend was discovered deceased in his apartment shortly after a suicide note emerged online; however, no legal documentation has officially tied his death to the ongoing lawsuit.

In light of these events, Jobst announced on X that he intends to release a comprehensive video detailing the entire saga. He aims to address concerns among his followers, potentially correcting “some incorrect narratives”surrounding his legal battles.

In related news, popular streamer Kai Cenat recently spoke out on a hacking incident affecting his Twitch account. He revealed that law enforcement is now involved in an investigation to identify the perpetrator.
