Johnny Mathis Announces Retirement from Live Performances
Iconic singer Johnny Mathis has made the heartfelt decision to retire from live performances, citing “age and memory issues which have accelerated”as key factors. The announcement came via a message posted on his official Facebook page on Wednesday.
Mathis, who is celebrating his 89th birthday this year, expressed regret over the need to cancel all scheduled concerts from June 2025 onwards. “While there are still some exciting concerts coming up, regrettably all Johnny Mathis concerts from June 2025 onwards are now cancelled,” the statement read.
Upcoming Concerts Before Retirement
As outlined on his official website, there are still four remaining performances on Mathis’ 2025 “Voice of Romance”tour. These concerts will take place in Pennsylvania, Indiana, California, and New Jersey, culminating with his final show on May 18. For those affected by the cancellation of the four shows, “refunds will be made through the original point of purchase,” according to the announcement.
