John Goodman Recovers from Injury on New Alejandro Iñárritu Film

Renowned actor John Goodman is currently in recovery after sustaining a hip injury while participating in the production of an untitled film directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu for Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment. This project notably stars Tom Cruise.

According to a statement from a Warner Bros. spokesperson, Goodman “experienced a hip injury,” prompting immediate medical intervention. This unfortunate incident led to a temporary halt in filming to ensure Goodman had adequate time to recuperate.

The film was not actively shooting when Goodman was injured, allowing for a smooth transition back to production. Filming is slated to resume next week, following his full recovery.

This film marks the first collaboration between Cruise and Warner Bros. under his new deal and represents Iñárritu’s return to English-language cinema after nearly a decade, following his acclaimed work on The Revenant. It is scheduled for release in theaters on October 2, 2026, a date originally set for the studio’s Batman sequel.
