In a recent interview with iHeartRadio, j-hope, a prominent member of BTS, opened up about the unique dynamics of his group, highlighting the positive contributions each member brings to their collective success. The discussion was shared on April 4, 2025, through iHeartRadio’s YouTube channel.
Understanding BTS: Collaboration and Roles
j-hope emphasized the importance of individual roles within the group, explaining that the collaborative spirit among members stems from a deep understanding of each person’s responsibilities. He remarked on their ability to “influence each other in a positive way,”which he believes is crucial to maintaining their unity over the past 13 years.
“Each member knows their role in the team very well, so we influence each other in a positive way. I believe that’s the driving force behind keeping the team together for 13 years. I wonder if I’d be fortunate enough to meet such amazing people again in another life.”
Inspiration and Artistic Growth
j-hope’s reflections on inspiration and artistic growth were elaborated on during another interview with iHeartRadio’s Z100 in New York on March 27, 2025. He shared how ordinary life experiences shape his music and dance moves:
“I usually get a lot of inspiration from everyday life. Everything I see and feel becomes a source of inspiration, and I try to put those into my music and dance.”
This theme of authentic inspiration resonated in his April 4th interview as well. He also discussed his collaboration with American rapper J. Cole on the track “On the Street,”describing the experience as deeply impactful. j-hope reminisced about filming the music video in New York City, finding every revisitation to the city strikingly new.
“It also reminds me of the day when I shot the [‘on the street’] music video with J. Cole. So coming back here, it reminds me of those days, and it feels new all over again.”
