Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was a huge success for developer Ninja Theory, with the game winning multiple awards and selling over a million units. It was praised for its storytelling, performances, and worldbuilding, making it a big recommendation, especially for God of War fans.
It was not long after the first game’s release that Microsoft announced it would acquire Ninja Theory as part of its strategy to create a new group of studios under its Xbox brand.

Yes, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will be released on Xbox Game Pass when it releases on May 21, 2024. It will be available as a Day 1 title.
Microsoft and Ninja Theory have also confirmed that the game will be released as a digital-only title, with no physical edition available. So if you don’t mind renting the game from Microsoft’s subscription service, we’d recommend getting a Game Pass subscription.
