Madden 24 has arrived and before jumping into the game, fans might want to know whether or not the game features crossplay for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Here’s everything we know about cross-platform play in the latest football sim.
In recent years, EA Sports have been adding cross-platform play to their titles including the FIFA and NHL franchises, however, fans of the beloved NFL series Madden have yet to see the highly requested feature.
In the past, only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S players had access to the current-gen versions of the game, and players on different devices couldn’t match up with each other for games.
With a history of no crossplay, many fans are wondering if Madden 24 will finally include the feature and allow them to join other players no matter the platform in online play. Here’s what you need to know.

Which Madden 24 modes have crossplay?
Crossplay will apply to online Head-to-Head play, Madden Ultimate Team, Superstar KO, Superstar Showdown, and Franchise, a move that Electronic Arts noted should reduce wait times for players.
While Franchise was initially not included among the modes that this feature was available for in Madden 24, that changed in January 2024. In a January title update, a beta for Franchise crossplay was released for the game.
How does Madden 24 crossplay work?
Only users on current-gen consoles — PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S — and PC players will be able to have access to Madden 24 crossplay functionality. While Madden 24 will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, those individuals won’t be able to utilize crossplay.
EA confirmed this feature in June 2023 when the release trailer for Madden 24 went live. The developers also noted that players will be able to shut off this feature. Xbox players will need to the console’s system settings to shut off crossplay, which will be on by default. PS5 and PC owners of Madden 24 will be able to go into the in-game settings and shut this off.
Does Madden 24 have cross-progression?
EA confirmed in June that Madden 24 has cross-progression for avatar progression and gear purchases within Superstar mode. This will apply to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC users.
However, we should note that the MUT Auction House will not be cross-platform. Thus, any Coins can’t be transferred from an Xbox account to a PlayStation account, and vice versa.
