Is Hollow Knight Silksong Exclusively Released on Nintendo Switch?

The highly anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong made waves during the recent Nintendo Switch 2 Direct by confirming its launch slated for 2025. Additionally, it will be available on both the original Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. This announcement led to some speculation among fans about its exclusivity to the new console.

However, Hollow Knight: Silksong is not a Nintendo-exclusive title. Despite the game’s marketing being predominantly highlighted by Nintendo, it has officially been confirmed for a variety of platforms beyond just the Switch. Let’s delve deeper into the platform availability and what fans can expect.

Platform Availability for Hollow Knight: Silksong

Team Cherry has announced that Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch on various platforms, confirming its release on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. Additionally, gamers can look forward to a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass, with the game also slated for a PC release on Steam and available on the PlayStation Store. This multiplatform approach signifies that it will not be limited to Nintendo consoles.

Recent Nintendo Direct presentations have showcased several exciting updates for Silksong, including a visually enhanced version of Bellhart, which has undergone a noticeable redesign since its initial reveal in 2019. Fans have also enjoyed updates to the Lace boss fight and minor enhancements in the starting area of the game.

Release Window Now Set for 2025

The release window for Hollow Knight: Silksong has now been confirmed for 2025; however, Team Cherry has yet to announce a specific launch date. Notably, the Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled to release on June 5, 2025, with a starting price of $449.99 for the standalone console or $499.99 bundled with Mario Kart World.

While Silksong won’t be available at the Switch 2’s launch, players can expect it to release later in the same year. Additionally, the Japanese Nintendo site has recently uploaded new in-game screenshots featuring Hornet, indicating that a more comprehensive reveal might be just on the horizon.
