Is Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth coming to Steam Deck?

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth may take the cake for the most anticipated release of 2024. However, will Steam Deck users be able to play the title?

Considering how long FF7 fans have waited for Rebirth, the game is fittingly releasing on February 29, 2024, due to Leap Year occurring every four years.

Like the excitement surrounding FF7 Rebirth, the title is also massive in file size. If you’re looking to purchase the physical PlayStation 5 version, it’ll even be split into two discs because of the game’s 150GB file size.

While Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is launching as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, Steam Deck players may be wondering when they can get their hands on the title. Here’s everything we know about a potential PC port.

At Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s State of Play presentation, Square Enix confirmed the game would remain a PlayStation 5 exclusive until at least May 29, 2024. Therefore, Steam Deck users should expect FF7 Rebirth to arrive sometime after that.

Previously, it took almost two years for the FF7 Remake to receive a PC port on the Epic Games Store. However, the game earned terrible reviews as one of the “worst AAA ports ever.”

In the meantime, Final Fantasy 16 players are still waiting for a PC version after its initial announcement in September 2023. Similar to FF7 Rebirth, FFXVI originally launched as a PlayStation 5 exclusive.

We will update this article if any information changes regarding FF7 Rebirth’s PS5 exclusivity. You can check out more articles about the game below:
