Is DLSS Available for Split Fiction?

The launch of Split Fiction, the latest offering from Hazelight Studios, has players curious about the absence of a significant feature: Nvidia’s DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling). This exciting narrative-driven game centers on two writers, Mio and Zoe, who navigate through their intertwined creative worlds while seeking an escape from a simulation. Given its cutting-edge graphics and design, many gamers anticipated the inclusion of DLSS to enhance performance.

Unfortunately, Split Fiction does not support DLSS upon its initial release.

Understanding DLSS Technology

Nvidia’s DLSS is renowned in the gaming community for its ability to upscale lower-resolution images through advanced artificial intelligence. This technology allows gamers with less powerful hardware to enjoy high-quality visuals without a significant decrease in performance. By intelligently reconstructing images, DLSS maintains visual fidelity while boosting frame rates substantially.

This feature offers flexibility, allowing players to choose from three modes: Performance, Quality, and Balanced, tailoring the visual experience according to their preferences. Furthermore, DLSS also serves to enhance anti-aliasing, effectively smoothing out jagged edges to create a more polished appearance in games.

Alternative Upscaling Method in Split Fiction

Even without DLSS, players of Split Fiction can still experience enhanced graphics through another upscaling method—AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR). While it may not match DLSS in some respects, FSR enables high frame rates and decent image quality on a wider range of graphics cards, providing an option for players who may not own Nvidia hardware.

To activate AMD FSR in Split Fiction, follow these simple steps:

  • Launch the game
  • Navigate to the “Options”menu from the main screen
  • Select the “Graphics”tab
  • Locate the Anti-Aliasing settings and choose the option labeled “AMD FSR 3.1”
  • Decide on the FSR Mode: Performance Mode favors higher frame rates at a lower image quality, while Quality Mode prioritizes image fidelity with a potential impact on performance.

With the right settings in place, players can maximize their visual experience even without DLSS.
