inZOI: A Comprehensive Guide on How to Go Fishing

inZOI opens up a world of diverse hobbies for ZOI to engage in during their downtime. Activities like painting, writing, and fishing not only serve as enjoyable pastimes but can also help ZOI earn money and gather useful items.

It is important to understand that certain items obtained through these activities aren’t directly sellable. Instead, they can be traded using the Pocket Market feature accessible via a ZOI’s smartphone or through the Secondhand Sales system, which requires a Secondhand Sales Counter to list items for sale.

One particularly lucrative hobby is fishing, which can be pursued at designated locations within the game. While the current fishing mechanism in inZOI is somewhat simplistic, it is expected that future updates will enhance this feature. Players can select from two types of bait and determine the duration of their fishing attempt, usually resulting in a random catch—most frequently a fish.

Selecting “Go Fishing”allows players to fish for free, while the “Fish with Advanced Bait”option costs 5 Meow and typically results in larger, more valuable catches. Fishing does not require much time, enabling players to queue multiple fishing attempts. While a variety of fish can be caught, their current applications are somewhat limited, and players may also find other intriguing items such as dolls.

As game development progresses, additional fishing spots are likely to be introduced, so when on the lookout for a spot, it’s best to visit public areas near rivers, lakes, or the ocean.

Using Advanced Bait appears to enhance the likelihood of catching better fish and unique items. During testing, my success in catching a Great Barracuda exclusively came from using Advanced Bait, suggesting it may be possible to catch it using regular bait, albeit at lower odds.

What to Do with Fish in inZOI

Caught Fish

After catching fish, players have several options for managing their haul. Initially, the caught fish will be held in the player’s hand until they interact with the environment, upon which they will automatically transfer to the inventory. Fish can be retrieved by clicking on the inventory item and hitting the “Take Out”button.

Once a fish is in hand, players can place it onto various surfaces by selecting “Place.” However, since fish have a limited freshness timeframe, it is advisable to avoid leaving them around idle. Consider selling them secondhand or filleting them to create ingredients.

All caught fish can be sold through the Secondhand system. For those planning to sell in bulk, investing in a Secondhand Sales Counter is advisable. Position it outside the ZOI’s residence, and by selecting a fish and hitting “Sell Secondhand,”players can set a price and hopefully generate a profit from their fishing activities.

Additionally, larger fish can be filleted using the “fillet”option, transforming them into non-perishable fish fillets needed for certain recipes. For players advancing in cooking skills, fish fillets are essential—you may encounter recipes calling for them, such as sushi, making fishing a valuable venture for culinary variety.

You can find the Secondhand Sales Counter within the build mode menu. To streamline your search, type “Secondhand”into the search bar, as it is the sole object with that term. The Secondhand Sales Counter can also be employed to sell various other unwanted items, including decorative pieces.
