With the introduction of Coda weapons, Warframe has added a new dimension to its nemesis arsenal, following the Kvua and Tenet brands. Players can acquire these weapons by trading Live Heartcells—tokens earned by defeating Technocyte Coda, also known as Infested Liches. A total of 13 Coda weapons have been introduced, showcasing varying levels of effectiveness.
This Coda weapon tier list aims to evaluate and rank each weapon based on their practicality and performance, particularly in the challenging Steel Path environment. While I do not expect these weapons to surpass the powerful Incarnons, they still bring unique attributes worthy of discussion. It is important to remember that personal playstyle can influence performance, so preferences may vary from player to player.
Comprehensive Coda Weapons Tier List in Update 38.5
Coda weapons are released in two rotating batches every four days. As of now, I have not yet had the chance to test the second batch. Therefore, the rankings for batch B are based on available stats and theoretical use cases, which may lead to adjustments in the future as I gain firsthand experience. Here’s my current tier list for all Coda weapons in Warframe:
Tier | Batch A | Batch B |
S | Coda Sporothrix | Coda Synapse |
A | Coda Catabolyst, Coda Motovore, Dual Coda Torxica | Coda Caustacyst |
B | Coda Hema, Coda Mire | Coda Pathocyst, Coda Tysis, Coda Bassocyst, Coda Hirudo |
C | Coda Pox | – |
S-Tier Weapons

The S-tier represents the pinnacle of what the Coda brand offers in terms of performance. While they may not outshine the Incarnons or top-tier meta options, investing in these weapons will be a satisfactory choice.
- Coda Sporothrix: Often considered the best sniper rifle in Warframe, Coda Sporothrix excels in area-of-effect damage, outperforming others in this category. Don’t let its sniper label limit your expectations.
- Coda Synapse: The Coda version features innate Punch-Through, a 40% base Critical Chance, and enhanced beam range. Synapse is undervalued, and these buffs significantly elevate its potential, making its S-tier placement a confident choice.
A-Tier Weapons

The A-tier includes weapons that may not reach S-tier status but still offer solid performance. They shine in specific setups and can outperform expectations.
- Coda Catabolyst: While some may question its A-tier ranking, Catabolyst’s reload grenade mechanic can offer unique advantages for skilled players. It requires practice to master, but once you do, it pays off.
- Coda Motovore: Regarded as one of the strongest original Coda weapons, Coda Motovore excels with crits and can even perform well with slam builds. Its design aligns more closely with Melee Doughty, setting it apart from melee counterparts.
- Coda Caustacyst: The Coda variant boasts the highest base status chance among Scythes and impressive base damage. It excels with heavy attack builds, warranted for A-tier placement.
- Dual Coda Torxica: These weapons provide a twist on the Incarnon Dual Toxocyst, offering a dual benefit that encourages experimentation.
B-Tier Weapons

The B-tier weapons are functional and provide solid performance, yet they lack standout features that could elevate them further. While they can perform adequately in the Steel Path, there are better options available.
- Coda Hema: This weapon enhances crit chances compared to its regular counterpart, making it viable, but it remains a standard choice that struggles to compete for top rankings.
- Coda Pathocyst: The Coda variant enhances the original’s functionality but still falls short of being a top choice in the Glaive category.
- Coda Tysis: While it shows potential, especially as a status weapon, it doesn’t quite meet the expectations some players have for a dedicated primer.
- Coda Bassocyst: Although visually appealing, its stats don’t deliver at a competitive level, making it harder to recommend despite stylistic choices.
- Coda Hirudo: Contains life-steal capabilities and decent crit stats, but its limited range impacts its overall effectiveness.
- Coda Mire: This weapon encourages a slam build but struggles with competition. Its performance issues may affect its long-term viability.
C-Tier Weapons

C-tier weapons are generally seen as less desirable and may not have a clear use in gameplay. Their limited scope for effectiveness often makes them unsuitable for competitive play.
- Coda Pox: The mechanics of Coda Pox do not appeal to everyone, as its stats lack impact and its toxin cloud ability feels underwhelming in practical applications.
- Coda Mire: This entry is anticipated to drop to C-tier following the expected nerfs to slam builds later this year.
This tier list represents my current analysis of the Coda weapons in Warframe. As I continue to test batch B weapons, I anticipate making adjustments based on firsthand experiences, so stay tuned for future updates and a more refined list.
