Oh my God, the fans are going to despise me. This is awesome,” he laughed, recognizing the power of his character’s actions.
Describing the intricacies involved in shooting the scene, Konowal elaborated, “You’re riding a horse, firing a gun, doing an accent, and you want to be in the moment.” The technical challenges, especially working with horses, made the shoot memorable. “It was an awesome day on set, and Darren was fantastic,” he praised his co-star.
That scene is really a culmination of all the prep and training coming together because you’re doing the action, you’re riding the horse, and you’re doing the acting. It was like, “Let’s put everything together in one moment.”
Upon meeting Mann after filming, Konowal recounted, “When I first saw Darren in Texas, he said, ‘Oh, man, you killed me!’ I responded, ‘I’m sorry,’ but he just laughed, affirming it would be great.” However, the support from Mann doesn’t guarantee Konowal an easy time with the audience, as Jack’s beloved status complicates matters.

Brian Konowal: Evil incarnate is a perspective, right? [Laughs] Clyde is doing what he feels necessary, and playing in Taylor’s universe has been immense fun. He’s just so despicable!
Clyde initially fights for his livelihood, stemming from his loyalty to Banner. As he witnesses Banner’s rise in power, his determination grows stronger. By season 2, Clyde is relentless, fully committed to implementing Banner’s orders.

Brian Konowal: Exactly, he’s emotionally detached, a true psychopath driven to violence. Empowered by Banner’s directive, he embraces his role as a villain, fully embodying what it means to be evil incarnate.

I relish the chance to explore Clyde’s transformation into a ruthless killer. I enjoy Westerns and appreciate the chance to play a multifaceted character who blurs the lines between lawman and villain.

Brian Konowal: Preparation is vital. Our team was well-prepared, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the moment. With unpredictable horse behavior, mastering muscle memory is crucial in controlling them during scenes.
In my significant scene with Darren, authenticity was paramount. We had to embody the gravity of the situation with Clyde’s cold act of violence.
