Twitch Streamer ImDontai Addresses Feud with xQc Over Racial Comments
Prominent Twitch streamer ImDontai, known for his association with the “W community,” recently engaged in a conversation with fellow streamer Felix “xQc” Lengyel following a public dispute. The controversy ignited when xQc criticized African-American artist Doechii’s use of the hit “Somebody That I Used to Know”sample in her track “Anxiety,”labeling it as “unfortunate.” This comment drew criticism and was perceived as racially insensitive by some observers.
The backlash against xQc intensified, particularly given the implications stemming from Doechii’s African heritage. In a light-hearted response on X, ImDontai made a nod to Ryan Coogler’s film “Sinners,”featuring a predominantly black cast led by Michael B. Jordan. He humorously remarked that he would only consider watching the film if xQc shared a favorable review.
In response, xQc fired back, distancing himself from accusations of racism and asserting that his remarks regarding Doechii’s music were not influenced by race.
ImDontai’s Take on Racial Allegations
On April 21, ImDontai revisited the topic, revealing that he too has faced accusations of racism in the past. He candidly stated:
“I have people thinking that I’m racist, like people think that I’m racist against white people. I know I’m not, so I don’t give a f**k what they think. You know you’re not racist, right?”
As the drama unfolded, xQc found himself facing allegations of “racism-baiting,”where some critics claimed he was leveraging racial controversies for online attention. Responding to this notion, xQc expressed:
“It’s just not as funny and good when it’s like ‘racism-baiting’ or whatever, it’s just odd.”
Advice to xQc: Don’t Take Online Criticism Too Seriously
Reacting to xQc’s stance, ImDontai offered advice that Felix should not take online criticisms too seriously, particularly if he believes the allegations to be unfounded:
“You shouldn’t give a f**k.”
ImDontai acknowledged the complexities of the situation, noting that as a Caucasian streamer, xQc might face different perceptions regarding allegations of racism. He remarked on the gravity of such accusations if they are directed at a white individual:
“Or is it different because he’s white? If he’s white being called racist does that make it crazier? Okay… Alright, I could understand that.”
Continuing his reflections, Dontai mentioned that labels of discrimination can be persistently damaging. He shared his own experiences concerning labels he has been subjected to, stating:
“Bro, people say that I’m gay, and they say that I’m racist, and they say that I’m homophobic, and they say that I’m transphobic. These are all labels that I don’t want on me. But brother, I know it’s not true, so like c’mon man… we’re just bantering back and forth, right?”
Latest Developments from xQc
In separate news, xQc recently announced his participation in the Marvel Rivals Invitational tournament, offering a prize pool of $250,000 alongside a host of popular streamers, further establishing his brand within the gaming community.
