“I Didn’t Think It Was Real” — Southern Charm’s Craig Conover Opens Up About Breakup with Paige

Craig Conover Reflects on His Breakup with Paige DeSorbo During Southern Charm Reunion

The much-anticipated first part of the season 10 reunion episode of Bravo’s Southern Charm premiered on March 27, 2025. Host Andy Cohen took the opportunity to delve into the emotional journey of cast member Craig Conover, particularly spotlighting his heartfelt comments regarding his recent breakup with Paige DeSorbo, which he detailed during his December 12, 2024, appearance on Watch What Happens Live.

Initially optimistic about their future, Craig revealed that he and Paige, who had been together for three years, had discussed significant steps, including engagement and relocation to New York. However, following a positive Thanksgiving together, the reality of their relationship took a sudden turn. Unprepared for the breakup, Craig admitted he was blindsided by Paige’s call to discuss the relationship’s future.

“When you just get a phone call after spending a great Thanksgiving weekend with her, and then she’s like, ‘We’ll talk about it’. .. I didn’t think it was real,” Craig shared during the reunion.

The Complexity of Separation

During this reunion episode, Craig opened up about the complexities surrounding his split from Paige. Rather than a definitive end, their separation was fraught with ongoing communication and lingering emotions. Their prior discussions about life plans, including family aspirations, added layers of difficulty to their breakup experience.

As the holiday season unfolded, Craig found himself grappling with lingering feelings of confusion and heartache. Despite their breakup, he and Paige maintained contact, reflecting on the life they had envisioned together.

“We had been planning our life together for three years. She fantasized about the family and stuff. And so yes, I have been in a weird place throughout December, which we continued to talk throughout December,” Craig revealed.

Public Reactions and Personal Acceptances

Craig disclosed that Paige had publicly addressed their breakup on her podcast, a revelation that intensified his emotional turmoil. Shortly after, he received a delivery containing his belongings—a gesture that surprised him yet ultimately aided in his acceptance of the situation.

Seemingly, news of their breakup reached their mutual friends quickly. Shep found out through a text from Rodrigo Reyes, an incident that did not sit well with him. The definitive end of their relationship occurred on December 2, 2024, while Craig was on tour in Toronto with fellow podcaster Austen Kroll. Austen noticed Craig’s change in demeanor at that time, sensing something was amiss.

“I was kind of like goading you [Craig] because I knew. And I just wanted you to say it to me,” Austen remarked as the two recounted their experiences at the reunion.

Feeling uncertain about sharing his feelings, Craig initially hesitated to disclose the breakup to Austen, fearing it would spread quickly among their circle. While Austen acknowledged Craig’s concerns, he expressed disappointment that Craig felt unable to confide in him at such a critical time.
