Hugh Jackman Reveals Sheep-Filled Clips from Detective Movie ‘Three Bags Full’

Hugh Jackman Enters His Shepherd Era in Upcoming Film

Hugh Jackman is set to embark on a whimsical journey in his latest project, Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie. The film made its debut at CinemaCon during Amazon MGM Studios’ presentation at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, where an exciting reveal garnered significant attention.

Film Teasers and Insights

During the event, Jackman, alongside co-star Emma Thompson, shared a captivating video segment to tease the audience. “This film represents a fantastic and heartfelt synthesis between animals and people,” Thompson expressed, highlighting the unique narrative approach.

Jackman further emphasized the comedic brilliance of the script, stating, “Craig Mazin’s wit is just second to none.” Under the direction of Kyle Balda, known for blockbuster animations such as Minions and Despicable Me 3, the film promises a delightful blend of humor and a captivating storyline.

An Engaging Whodunit

The preview footage featured the film’s charming sheep characters, reflecting its whodunit theme. “The movie is a bit of a whodunit, which is always fun,” Jackman noted in a behind-the-scenes clip. He underscored that this film is woven with deep emotional resonance, stating, “This movie has such heart.”

The narrative centers on Jackman’s character, George Hardy, a devoted shepherd who cherishes his flock and raises them for their wool. Every evening, he entertains the sheep by reading aloud murder mysteries, blissfully unaware that his audience engages in spirited discussions about the plot. However, when George meets a tragic end under mysterious circumstances, the sheep leap into action, convinced they must solve the murder themselves, especially since the local police officer, played by Nicholas Braun, lacks the experience to handle such cases.

Star-Studded Cast and Production Team

The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Nicholas Galitzine, Molly Gordon, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Chris O’Dowd, Regina Hall, and Patrick Stewart, alongside Thompson and Hong Chau. It is based on the beloved 2005 novel Three Bags Full by Leonie Swann.

Producers Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner from Working Title are joined by Lindsay Doran of Three Strange Angels. The film also features a robust lineup of executive producers, including Sarah-Jane Wright, Amelia Granger, Aditya Sood, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Tim Wellspring, and Tyson Hesse.
