Unlocking the Pump Room
To access the Pump Room floor plan in Blue Prince, your first objective is to locate the Pool area. Recognizable by its three entrances, the blue room is dominated by a sizable swimming pool. Successfully interacting with the Pool will unlock additional spaces, including the Pump Room, Sauna, and Locker Room. Notably, players can empty the Pool entirely by figuring out the mechanics of the pumps.
Utilizing the Pump Room
This game includes an instructional manual explaining the operation of all equipment within the Pump Room. Shown in the accompanying screenshot, this guide, along with the diagram displayed in the Pump Room, will assist players in ensuring the pumps function correctly.

To drain the Fountain after making a wish, you’ll need to fill all other rooms with water, then transfer the remaining water from the Fountain into one of the tanks. This process involves utilizing a water source that provides access to both tanks 1 and 2. Be sure to utilize the Pump 2 Switch to designate the appropriate tank for water flow.
Emptying the Reservoir
If you’ve been experimenting with the pumps, you might notice the limited capacity for water in the surrounding sources and tanks. To access the bottom of the Reservoir, activating the Reserve tank on the opposite side of the Pump Room is essential. This requires connecting power to the Pump Room via a source, specifically the Boiler Room in Blue Prince.
Various floorplan tiles, such as those found in the Archive, Gym, and Lab, can link power to different areas. After activating the power in the Boiler Room, observe the highlighted tiles that can transmit power. Once the connections are established, you’ll gain access to new controls within the Pump Room, allowing you to drain either tank 1 or tank 2 into the Reserve tank situated across the room.
