The highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Shadows has finally launched, allowing players to delve into the captivating world of feudal Japan. As players navigate this intricate in-game landscape, they will stumble upon various quests that offer opportunities to earn experience points (XP) and valuable rewards. A significant mission titled Searching Sakai tasks players with uncovering the identity of the elusive Golden Teppo.
One critical part of this quest involves finding Imai Sokyu, a character linked to the powerful warlord Oda Nobunaga. However, tracking him down within the bustling city can prove challenging. This guide aims to assist players in locating and initiating a conversation with Imai Sokyu in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Locating Imai Sokyu

Upon arriving in Sakai, begin by engaging in conversations with various townspeople to gather clues about a woman who possesses the Golden Teppo. As you explore, you will notice two men deep in discussion on the right side of the town. Eavesdrop on their conversation without attracting their attention. Once they finish talking, approach them to secure their contracts, which are essential for meeting Imai Sokyu.
It’s worth noting that on your first attempt to speak with the two men, you won’t gain access to the contracts through dialogue. They may become suspicious, leading to a confrontation where you have to eliminate them to obtain the needed contracts. Once you possess these contracts, deploying scouts will help pinpoint Sokyu’s whereabouts in the Money Changer District.
Engaging with Imai Sokyu

To converse with Imai Sokyu, you must first navigate to his residence. Start from the central intersection of Sakai and proceed down the main road until you reach a slope on your right. Before reaching the bridge, divert to the top right until you come across several houses adorned with white garments hanging on their doorways.
Among these residences, you need to enter the second house. Inside, you will find both Imai Sokun (the son) and Imai Sokyu (the father). Using the contracts you procured earlier, Naoe will speak with Sokun, ultimately securing her invitation to the tea ceremony. It’s important to note, however, that she will not have the opportunity to speak directly with Imai Sokyu. Following the cutscene, the mission Searching Sakai will reach its conclusion.
