Guide to Completing the My First Rodeo Quest in Revenge of the Savage Planet

The My First Rodeo quest, integral to the larger mission titled That Has My Name On It in Revenge of the Savage Planet, enables players to unlock the much-needed Proton Whip. This essential tool facilitates the elimination of growths on Beetles and helps navigate certain obstructed paths later in the game.

If the quest does not initiate for you, ensure that you’ve successfully scanned a Beetle or a Fecal Beetle, as this action typically triggers the next quest stage. Should you find the quest static, file this scanning as a potential solution to jumpstart the progress. Below is a comprehensive guide to navigate the My First Rodeo quest.

Locating the Proton Whip

Your journey begins by heading north on Stellaris Prime, traversing through previously explored locations. While the game may indicate the destination, should it fail to do so, search for a prominent platform situated in the acidic jungle region. Nearby, you’ll discover a Teleporter—activating this device is strongly advised to expedite future travels.

As you proceed, keep an eye out for orange mushrooms, utilizing them to leap towards the area where your climbing adventure commences.

Constructing Platforms with the Hose

Upon reaching a sizable tree featuring a bulbous growth at its base, equip your Hose. Direct the spray at the bulb to create your initial platform. From here, use double jumps to ascend. Keep your eyes peeled for additional bulbs above; spraying them with water will produce new platforms allowing you to continue your vertical journey.

Be prepared for encounters with Spitting Flowers and green goo blobs during your climb. You can neutralize these threats by spraying them with water, or, if you prefer, simply bypass them for a quicker ascent.

Upon reaching the apex of the tree, locate a crate obscured by green slime next to the Blobulous. Deploy your water gun, or Hose, one final time to clear the grime and unlock the crate. Inside, you will find the coveted Proton Whip. The completion of the My First Rodeo quest is signaled immediately, and the Proton Whip will be auto-equipped for your use.
