Accessing Outfit Customization

To begin customizing Alma’s outfits, players must progress to Windward Plains during Chapter 1. Once you unlock this area, you will have access to your tent, which serves as the hub for all visual modifications. If you have previously explored character customization or adjusted Palico looks, you’ll be familiar with navigating this interface.

Follow these steps to change Alma’s outfit:

  • Enter your tent located at any base camp.
  • Access the camp menu at the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • Scroll to find the Appearance Menu tab.
  • Select Change Appearance followed by Change Alma’s Outfit.
  • A list of available outfits will appear.
  • Choose your desired outfit and confirm the change.

Your selected outfit will be visible immediately after you exit the tent. Alma typically remains at your camp or the Grand Hub, making it easy to admire the new look.

Currently, there are three outfits available for Alma, each of which can be switched at any time. However, note that customization options are limited to the original styles without the possibility of recoloring or altering design elements.

1) Handler’s Outfit

This default attire is the first look players will see when they start the game. It’s simple and practical for in-game activities.

2) Scrivener’s Coat

The Scrivener’s Coat is the first alternate outfit introduced in the title update released on April 4, 2025. This ensemble is a nod to the devoted researchers and historians within the Monster Hunter universe.

To obtain this outfit:

  • Visit your platform’s digital store (e.g., PlayStation Store).
  • Locate the Monster Hunter Wilds section under additional content or DLC.
  • Find and download the “Alma Outfit: Scrivener’s Coat,”which is offered as free content in the update.

This paid DLC outfit reinstates Alma’s classic appearance from Monster Hunter World as part of the New World Commission.

Bonus: Changing Alma’s Glasses

Customization for Alma goes beyond just outfits. After completing the Apple of Her Eye side quest, players unlock an additional customization menu allowing for her glasses to be changed.

There are two glasses options available:

  • Strategist’s Spectacles
  • Square Glasses

To unlock these, you must complete a side quest involving a Wudwud named Ayejack, which entails gathering Eastern Honey and ensuring the correct seasonal conditions to progress. Upon completing these tasks, both glasses become craftable headgear at the Smithy, and can be selected from the customization menu for Alma in Monster Hunter Wilds.

In summary, altering Alma’s outfits not only brings a fresh aesthetic to the game but also enhances the personalization experience in Monster Hunter Wilds.
