The Way Into the Mountain is a pivotal quest introduced in the Genshin Impact 5.5 update, drawing players deeper into the newly unveiled realm of Natlan. Adventurers have eagerly accompanied their Tepetlisaurus, marked by the notorious “Flamelord’s Blessing,”throughout their journeys. As you engage with multiple world quests, you’ll eventually find yourself in Atocpan, ready to enter a volcano in a quest to cure the Little One, marking a significant milestone in your adventure.
Before diving into the Atocpan main quest, players must first complete The Way Into the Mountain. This quest is essential to unlocking further exploration in the Atocpan region and wraps up the storyline involving the Little One.
Unlocking The Way Into the Mountain Quest
To initiate The Way Into the Mountain, your journey begins at the Collective of Plenty tribe situated in the southwestern part of Natlan, specifically west of the People of the Springs tribe. Ensure you unlock the Statue of Seven in Atocpan while making your way there, if you haven’t already done so.
Upon reaching the Collective of Plenty, look for a blue quest marker on your map, which indicates two children, Dutse and Duniya, engaged in a discussion about the Sacred Mountain. Interact with them and go through all dialogue options to officially start The Way Into the Mountain quest.
Discovering the Sacred Mountain
After conversing with the children, you will receive a task named “Find a way into the Sacred Mountain,”which will direct you towards a specific location near the Fallingstar Fields. Use the teleport waypoint in this area to expedite your journey.
Upon arrival, you will discover members of the Natlan tribe hiding from Abyssal monsters. Your task here is to defeat these adversaries and speak with the tribe members to gain insights into their plight.
Clearing the Ruins
After this interaction, Nzaya and Kimoshi will request your assistance in vanquishing another horde of monsters located at the entrance to the nearby ruins. Fight through this second wave and proceed up the left path, where you’ll encounter several Hilichurls rolling boulders down towards you. You can transform into a Tatankasaur or use a character from the Collective of Plenty, such as Varesa, to navigate past the obstacles and reach the summit.
At the top of the ruins, you’ll discover a small entrance leading further inside. Investigate deeper into the ruins where you’ll face more Hilichurl foes and encounter some Tenebrous Mimifloras disguised as treasure chests.
Defeat all adversaries to continue your quest progression, and be sure to collect any chests you find along the way. Once completed, return to the entrance and speak with Nzaya and Kimoshi to conclude this chapter.
As your conversation with them wraps up, a sudden eruption from the Sacred Mountain volcano will erupt, causing unexpected chaos. After a few final dialogues, you will finish The Way Into the Mountain quest, earning rewards that include:
- 30 x Primogems
- 2 x Hero’s Wit
- 22,500 x Mora
- 3 x Mystic Enhancement Ore
This thrilling explosion triggers the appearance of a Spiritway, allowing you to ride it to the mountain’s peak and commence the Nahuatzin’s Leap world quest.
