The Fontaine Research Institute of Kinetic Energy Engineering in Genshin Impact once stood as a bustling hub of innovation, but it was reduced to ruins following a catastrophic explosion. This destruction gave rise to several Allogravity-Condensed Water Bodies, which now float eerily in the air, presenting both a visually arresting landscape and an inviting challenge for adventurers.
For those brave enough to explore these remnants, the rewards are plentiful. Scattered throughout the Institute are numerous treasure chests, both in open areas and cleverly concealed spots. Among the valuable items within these chests are sought-after Primogems. Additionally, players can exchange Hydroculus at the Statue of the Seven within the area to further their collection. In total, players can gather 40 Hydroculus throughout the Fontaine Research Institute of Kinetic Energy Engineering.
Location 1: Hydroculus Discovery
Start your journey by teleporting to the waypoint located north of the Experimental Field Generator boss. From there, navigate southwest towards a teleportation bubble, which will lift you to the hilltop where the first Hydroculus awaits.
Location 2: Hidden Beneath
Next, head north towards the nearby ruin, where you will find another Hydroculus tucked beneath a stone slab.
Location 3: The Hilltop Hydroculus
Continue on your path by traveling southwest and scaling the hill to discover another Hydroculus waiting at the summit.
Location 4: Climbing for Treasure
Revisit the previous waypoint and this time, move south towards the Experimental Field Generator boss. Explore the ruins and climb along the side of the building to claim your Hydroculus.
Location 5: The Tower’s Apex
Travel south until you spot a towering structure. Glide from the top of the mountain to reach the Hydroculus perched at the peak of this tower.
Location 6: The Pedestal Challenge
Utilize the teleport waypoint located southeast of the Experimental Field Generator boss. Walk slightly south to find a Hydroculus resting atop a pedestal that’s guarded by a barrier. To access it, you need to gather two nearby Seelies to bypass the barrier.
Location 7: Unlocking the Door
From your last location, proceed west and enter the hole in the ground to find a locked door. You will need to acquire an item called Arkhium Lumenite to unlock the door and access the Hydroculus hidden inside.
Location 8: The Abandoned Ruin
Exit the hidden chamber and head northeast toward a small abandoned ruin. Look atop the pillar to find another Hydroculus awaiting your discovery.
Location 9: The Rooftop Find
Perched on high ground, walk west and leap down to land on the rooftop to collect the next Hydroculus there.
Location 10: Highway Treasure
Ascend back up the mountain and head west towards the tall building adjacent to the Experimental Field Generator boss. Use the structure to access the broken highway and continue until you locate the Hydroculus.
Location 11: Broken Highway Discovery
Turn back and glide down to find the next Hydroculus situated along the broken highway.
Location 12: The Western Path
Glide towards the next broken highway to the west and continue walking along its length to find another Hydroculus at the end.
Location 13: The Water Dive
From your last position, dive into the water to the southeast and swim until you reach a Hydroculus on a pillar.
Location 14: Mid-Pillar Find
Swim to the west to uncover another Hydroculus resting atop a broken pillar in the water.
Location 15: House Hydroculus
Teleport to the waypoint east of the Statue of the Seven. Proceed southeast toward a small house, where you’ll find the Hydroculus atop the roof.
Location 16: Wall Treasure
Return to the waypoint and head west towards a crumbled wall to find the Hydroculus located behind it.
Location 17: Underwater Ruins
From the last location, dive into the water and swim east to discover a breakable stone on the seafloor. Utilize the ability of a nearby Xenochromatic Jellyfish to detonate the stone, revealing a hidden underwater arena where another Hydroculus awaits.
Location 18: Quest Within Ruins
Continue to explore the underwater area, where you will begin the hidden ‘Treacherous Light of the Depths’ quest. Completing this challenge will grant access to another elusive Hydroculus within the ruins.
Location 19: Hilichurl Camp
Teleport once again to the waypoint east of the Statue of the Seven and venture north toward a sizable Hilichurl camp. At the camp’s center, locate the Hydroculus nestled between the claws of a large machine.
Location 20: The Northern Glide
At the Statue of the Seven in Fontaine, glide north towards the elevated highway, carefully walking along the broken stretch to collect the Hydroculus.
Location 21: Pillar’s Edge
From the last Hydroculus, glide downward to the south and you will find another Hydroculus nestled between broken pillars.
Location 22: Condensed Water Body Adventure
Teleport to the Central Laboratory Ruins waypoint. Enter the Condensed Water Body before you and swim directly to the window in the ruins to uncover the next Hydroculus.
Location 23: Floating Debris
Return to the previous waypoint and leap onto the Condensed Water Body nearby. Climb the floating debris to reach the Hydroculus located at the highest point.
Location 24: Eastern Highway
From the last location, glide east to reach another highway. Walk along this pathway until you find the Hydroculus at the terminus.
Location 25: Depths of the Water
Teleport again to the Central Laboratory Ruins waypoint and dive into the water at the base to find an Echoing Conch in front of a ruin. Nearby is a Xenochromatic Blubberbeast’s ability; use it to strike the crystal inside the locked gate. Unlock it to swim further inside and claim the Hydroculus.
Location 26: Floating Highway
Return to the previous waypoint and head north before jumping down onto the floating highway. Walk until you reach the furthest point for another Hydroculus.
Location 27: Ruins Puzzle
From the last location, glide northeast towards the ruins below to find another Hydroculus locked behind a gate. Solve the puzzle by placing the portable Energy device inside the institute in front of the locked portal.
Location 28: Building Exploration
Continue on the northern path until you arrive at another building. Climb the tower to its summit to retrieve the Hydroculus.
Location 29: Center of Attraction
Fast travel to the New Fontaine Research Institute waypoint. Climb to the second floor and glide over to the center of the large banner to find another Hydroculus resting above.
Location 30: Hidden Among Ruins
Exit the institute towards the northeast, where you will find another Hydroculus nestled among the fragmented pathways.
Location 31: The Crystal Amber
Keep advancing northeast until you spot a Hydro Amber. Destroy it to reveal a teleportation bubble that will carry you to the Hydroculus suspended in the air.
Location 32: Underneath Construction
From your last location, glide to the northeast and look for a small area beneath the building structure containing another Hydroculus.
Location 33: The Lower Ruins
Make your way south towards another building and leap to the lower level of the ruins for a Hydroculus hidden there.
Location 34: Rock Formation Traverse
Teleport to the New Fontaine Research Institute waypoint once more, then venture west and climb over the rock formations to discover another Hydroculus.
Location 35: Map’s Edge
Use the teleport waypoint situated north of New Fontaine Research Institute and travel northeast to find a Hydroculus at the very edge of the map.
Location 36: Mountain’s Summit
From your last location, head southeast and ascend the mountain to discover a Luxurious Chest along with a Hydroculus positioned next to it.
Location 37: The Tower’s Pinnacle
Glide towards the southwest from the mountain top to reach the summit of a nearby tower, where yet another Hydroculus can be found.
Location 38: Pier Overlook
Teleport to a waypoint northwest of New Fontaine Research Institute and proceed west to the pier. Climb to the top for another Hydroculus.
Location 39: The Cave Discovery
Return to your previous waypoint and follow the trail east to enter a cavern. Within this cave, you’ll initiate the ‘Road to the Singularity’ quest, necessary to unlock all rooms. A Hydroculus awaits atop a mechanism in the center.
Location 40: The Final Hydroculus
From your last ending point, head south and drop down to the level below. Follow this path and turn left to find a tunnel leading to the sea. Dive into the water to retrieve the final Hydroculus, completing your collection.
