Genshin Impact Highlights Significant Sales Disparity Between Varesa and Xianyun

Genshin Impact has recently unveiled a compelling chart highlighting the revenue disparity between two of its prominently featured five-star characters: Varesa and Xianyun. With each update bringing a larger roster of playable characters, the introduction of double banners has become a standard practice within the game.

This gacha system allows players the chance to draw for two different five-star characters simultaneously, where both share the same pity system and four-star character pool. As is customary, each Limited Character Banner remains available for approximately three weeks. Currently, players have about 15 days left to obtain both Varesa and Xianyun, alongside the newly introduced four-star character, Iansan.

According to data from Paimon.moe, a reputable source for Genshin Impact statistics, there is a notable disparity in sales between the Electro catalyst user Varesa and the Anemo support character from Liyue, Xianyun. Impressively, Varesa, the latest addition to the game’s roster from the Natlan region, has accounted for over 71% of the sales. This is quite expected, given that she is the sole new five-star character introduced in this update. Varesa belongs to the Collective of Plenty, a prominent tribe within Natlan, and excels in the role of a main DPS, primarily inflicting damage through her Plunging Attack. Her emphasis on Plunging Attacks likely influenced her simultaneous release alongside Xianyun, who is viewed as an exceptional support for characters utilizing Plunging Attack damage.

Is It Worth Pulling for Varesa or Xianyun in Genshin Impact?

Despite her impressive damage capabilities, player feedback indicates that Varesa’s kit may be lacking in versatility. Common critiques focus on her dependence on Plunging Attacks and the necessity of having Nightsoul users within her team. The Nightsoul mechanic is exclusive to characters from Natlan, meaning players without Pyro nation characters may not be able to optimize her abilities effectively. However, many still find Varesa to be one of the most enjoyable characters to play, particularly when exploring the game’s vast overworld.

Varesa’s banner partner, Xianyun, has been highly anticipated since her early revelations in update 4.4. Initially introduced as Cloud Retainer in her crane form, Xianyun is lauded as an S-tier support character capable of enhancing many team compositions. To truly capitalize on the strengths of both characters, players are encouraged to pursue their signature weapons, currently available in the Limited Weapon Banner.

Furthermore, HoYoverse has confirmed that the upcoming second banner will feature two formidable characters: the Anemo Archon, Venti, and Natlan’s Geo support, Xilonen. Given the trend of including an Archon in the last four updates, it’s likely that Venti may be the last Archon to appear on a banner for some time.
