As you venture through the captivating landscapes of Genshin Impact, you’ll uncover numerous hidden treasures and secrets, one of which includes the tantalizing, broken secret source dragon idol located in Atocpan. These secrets often direct players to concealed areas filled with valuable chests and unique achievements.
The achievement titled “Lonely Sentinel”is not tied to any specific quest. However, to unlock it, you’ll need to engage with the secret source dragon idol and complete an associated task. Players will encounter challenges, particularly as they traverse an underground cave brimming with lava—so exercise caution and strategic thinking with every step you take.
Unlocking the Lonely Sentinel Achievement in Genshin Impact
To begin, navigate to a teleport waypoint located just east of the “Collective of Plenty”clan area in Atocpan. Proceed east, toward a pool of lava, where you’ll discover the secret source dragon idol resting in the lava. Be prepared to encounter a couple of Hilichurls guarding a remarkable chest nearby. As you approach the idol, shoot the barrel adjacent to it to awaken the dragon, which will then break through surrounding rocks, unveiling access to a hidden cave entrance.
Once inside the cave, follow the dragon deeper until you trigger a teleport waypoint. With lava all around, your path will be obstructed. The dragon idol will offer you a common chest, and you should ride on its back to be transported to the next safe area. Upon reaching your destination, the dragon will reemerge with an exquisite chest, but it will be positioned some distance away from you.
To collect the exquisite chest, head southward and ascend the slope to reach a higher platform. Once again, jump onto the dragon’s body to snag the chest, and then leap to safety once the dragon retreats.
On your next encounter with the dragon idol, it will come equipped with a mechanism on the same platform. Climb onto the head-shaped statue and activate it to solidify the surrounding lava into rock. Afterward, use the nearby Tatankasaurus transformation for a charge attack to demolish any remaining obstacles to clear the way. Continue this until you can see the dragon’s path fully revealed. The secret source dragon idol will then clear a route to your left, awaiting your arrival at the barrier.
Proceed down the newly unblocked path and interact with the golden seal to lift the barrier and liberate the secret source servant confined within. Your reward will be a luxurious chest. After collecting it, read the accompanying note near the servant for further instruction. Once complete, hop back onto the dragon to ascend to the higher elevation of the cave, where you’ll finally achieve the A Lonely Sentinel accomplishment. Conclude the hidden quest by using the newly activated wind current to exit the cave.
