MBC’s “Good Day”Concludes with Heartfelt Collaborations

The much-anticipated music variety show, Good Day, aired its final episode on April 13, 2025, culminating a vibrant eight-part series led by the iconic G-Dragon. This engaging project united a diverse group of artists, actors, and entertainers, culminating in a collaborative performance featuring a reinterpretation of Urban Zakapa’s hits, Telepathy and At the Window of the Moonlight.

Viewers were treated to poignant moments during the finale, including the touching reunion of G-Dragon and Jung Hyung-don in the studio, a meeting that marked over a decade since they last collaborated. The grand finale showcased electrifying performances from notable talents such as CL, Hwang Jung-min, and the BSS subunit from Seventeen, amplifying the show’s emotional resonance.

Controversy Shadows the Finale

Interestingly, the final episodes of Good Day excluded all footage of actor Kim Soo-hyun, following his recent controversy linked to the late actress Kim Sae-ron. As reported by Times Now, the show experienced a one-week broadcasting hiatus in March to accommodate significant re-editing efforts amidst this situation.

Despite boasting a star-studded lineup, AllKpop reported that Good Day ended its run with its lowest average viewership, at just 2.7%. The highlight of the series, however, was a playful date sequence between G-Dragon and Hwang Kwanghee, which drew a peak viewership of 3.5%.

Cinematic Moments and Creative Collaborations

As G-Dragon shifted his focus toward solo endeavors, directing duties for the concluding recordings were handed over to Taeyang and Code Kunst. G-Dragon’s influence as a producer was evident as he worked closely with diverse figures from the entertainment industry to create a touching closing anthem marking the end of the show.

The finale was filled with memorable highlights. Jung Hyung-don kept the atmosphere lively with his ad-libs, while Hwang Jung-min’s impressive vocal performance brought the project to a stunning conclusion. Additionally, Hong Jin-kyung wowed participants with her freestyle rap, adding a unique flair to the episode.

Chef Ahn Sung-jae added comedic relief, while Kim Go-eun and Daesung enriched the program with their vocal depth. Reflecting on the experience, G-Dragon expressed that the project initiated with a straightforward goal: “to spread joy and comfort through music.”Chosun Biz quoted him as saying:

“This project started because I wanted more people to enjoy and laugh for a short time through the medium of music, and it was a time so funny that my jaw hurt.”

He also acknowledged the collaborative nature of the finale, remarking:

“Since there are many artists, I didn’t think it was just me directing alone; it was a song that we could all create together through communication.”

What’s Next for G-Dragon?

Currently, G-Dragon is on his solo tour titled “G-DRAGON 2025 WORLD TOUR Übermensch.” This highly anticipated tour kicked off on March 29-30 at the Goyang Stadium in South Korea and is set to include major stops in the Philippines, Japan, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Hong Kong.

Fans can look forward to the official single and music video for Good Day 2025, which is scheduled for release on April 24 at 6 PM. Proceeds from this project will be dedicated to supporting underprivileged children and youth in Korea.
