Fox Extends Lifespan of Iconic Animated Series
Fox has officially announced that it has renewed some of its most beloved adult animated series for multiple seasons. This includes the long-running The Simpsons, as well as Family Guy, Bob’s Burgers, and American Dad!. Notably, The Simpsons, which originally aired in 1989, holds the record for the longest-running show in this lineup. Family Guy made its debut in 1999 and made a noteworthy return to the network in 2005 following a brief cancellation. The more recent addition, Bob’s Burgers, first premiered in 2011. Additionally, American Dad! is set to transition back to Fox after spending over a decade on TBS.
Details on the Renewals
According to a report from Deadline, all four animated series have been renewed for four additional seasons. This renewal will keep them on the air through the 2028-29 season. Each of these upcoming seasons is expected to feature 15 episodes, marking a shift from the traditional 22-episode format commonly associated with these shows. However, it is worth noting that The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob’s Burgers have already seen a reduction in their episode counts in recent years.
