Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 early patch notes

Greek Mythology theme

The new Fortnite season is called Myths and Mortals and is rumored to bring a new storyline between the Greek Underworld vs. Gods of Olympus.

According to data miners the season also brings new content tied in to the Greek Mythology theme which features the Greek god of Thunder Zeus, Ares, Hades, Artemis, Cerberus, Icarus, and much more.

Four new mythic weapons

In the latest teaser for Chapter 5 Season 2, Fortnite teased four mythic items coming to the game in Chapter 5 Season 2. These are Zeus’ Lightning Bolt, Cerberus’ Wolves, Hades’ Chains and Icarus’ Wings.

These mythics are now confirmed since in the video teaser, Fortnite players were seen wielding those alongside bosses and viewers got a chance to take a sneak peek at how they will work when released in the game.

New POIs and Greek locations

As spotted in the key art and teaser, three new POIs are so far confirmed to appear, which are Mount Olympus, Castle of Hades, and River of Styx which will be added to the current Fortnite Chapter 5 map.

However, certain leaks hint towards eight new POIs coming this season, which means the majority of the island will undergo a change when it comes to biomes and drop locations for players during a match.

New SMG and Marksman Rifle

As seen in the Myths and Mortals key art, two new weapons will be added to Fortnite which will be a new Assault Rifle and a Submachine Gun. Furthermore, the Hand Cannon and Combat Pistol are rumored to be unvaulted when the update comes out.

Every Fortnite season goes through a significant change in the loot pool and this time around Epic will be introducing weapons that will match the mythics meta during the season.

New Battle Pass and skins

The upcoming Battle Pass for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 will feature all original skins inspired by Greek Mythology and will receive a Zero Point makeover before they hit the update. The pass will feature characters such as Zeus, Hades, Cerberus, Icarus, Ares, and many more.

However the most hilarious of them all is the Poseidon skin which is a meme skin this season modeled over Rippley from Fortnite Chapter 2. While this was added by Epic in good sport, the community was left disappointed when it was teased.

Rocket Racing, LEGO Fortnite & more

Alongside the core Battle Royale mode, three additional modes which include LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing and Fortnite Festival will receive a seasonal update as well. These modes will go under downtime at the same time the core modes will.

However since each of these modes received new content over the last month, it’d be surprising to see any major change hit the game.

We’ll keep you updated right here with more info when Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 goes live.
