Final Volume of Undead Unluck Manga to Feature 5 New Epilogue Chapters

On March 31, 2025, the official X (formerly known as Twitter) account for the Undead Unluck manga series made an exciting announcement regarding the release of five new epilogue chapters in conjunction with its final volume. The culmination of mangaka Yoshifumi Tozuka’s work, the 26th and 27th volumes, is set to hit the shelves in Japan this Friday, April 4.

First Epilogue Chapter Revealed: “Unsung Hero”

The recent post on the Undead Unluck manga’s X account not only confirmed the impending release of new content but also offered a glimpse into the first epilogue chapter titled “Unsung Hero.” Initially teased in February as previously unseen chapters, these epilogues have now been designated as the concluding segments of the series.

This announcement primarily revolves around the upcoming 27th and final volume while introducing the narrative of the first chapter. It tells the story of “a young man taking a step towards his dream in a new world.” Accompanying the text is an image of the first page, showcasing this character as he interacts with a group of doctors.

The young protagonist appears to be a doctor, identifiable by his lab coat and stethoscope, and he bears a striking resemblance to Rip Tristan, a prominent doctor in the series. Notably, fans have identified the character to look similar to Lucy, which leads to some speculation regarding the character’s identity—despite the post labeling this individual as a young boy, there are hints suggesting an alternative possibility.

In tandem with this epilogue chapter reveal, the X post reiterated the official release date for the last two volumes of the manga—April 4, 2025. However, no English release date has been announced for these final volumes, with the next English editions, volumes 19 and 20, expected on April 15 and June 17, 2025, respectively. The post also showcased the front covers for volumes 26 and 27, merging them into a combined image.

Originally serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on January 20, 2020, Tozuka’s Undead Unluck spanned almost five years, concluding on January 27, 2025. The series has already seen the release of two spinoff novels, with a third novel set to debut alongside the final volumes on April 4.

Additionally, a television anime adaptation produced by David Production is underway, with news of a confirmed second season. Fans can look forward to a one-hour special featuring an original storyline that is scheduled for release during the winter of 2025, although this will not coincide with the just-concluded winter 2025 anime season.
