“FANTIAGO PROTECT CHA EUNWOO” Trends on X as Fans Call for Support After Moonbin Tribute Controversy

Cha Eunwoo Faces Online Harassment Amid Tribute Backlash

ASTRO’s Cha Eunwoo has recently become the target of intense online harassment, with allegations suggesting he is exploiting the memory of his late bandmate, Moonbin, for personal gain. This situation has ignited a wave of anger among fans, who are now voicing their dissatisfaction with Fantagio Entertainment, Eunwoo’s agency, for its perceived inaction in protecting him from continued aggression and negativity.

On April 21, 2025, a show of solidarity was mounted by international fans, who organized a protest by sending trucks to the offices of Fantagio. These displays prompted calls for increased safety measures to be put in place for Cha Eunwoo.

Addressing Stalking and Social Media Harassment

In addition to online abuse, there are reports that Eunwoo is grappling with issues of stalking and receiving harmful comments across social media platforms. This further complicates an already distressing situation, as fans unite in condemning the agency’s lack of urgency in addressing these serious matters.

“It’s time for Fantagio to step up and protect its artist as it should!”a fan exclaimed.

“It is time to react! Fantagio, please finally put your words into action and protect your artist!”a fan pleaded.

Calls for Action from Fans

Criticism of Fantagio’s passive stance has been mounting, with many fans demanding more rigorous measures to ensure the safety of their beloved artist. Some have suggested that the agency should implement stricter regulations to hold malicious commenters accountable.

“They should impose serious laws against these malicious commenters to be heavily punished so that they can learn from this and stop,”a fan wrote.

“The artist can’t live without protection from stalkers, those posting malice towards him, impersonators, and those spreading false information across all social media and YouTube. ACT NOW!!!”a fan expressed.

“Whoever did this, thank you! Maybe it can make Fantagio more responsive and prompt action! Enough words! Take action!”another fan said.

A Heartfelt Tribute: Memory of the Moon

On April 19, 2025, Eunwoo, alongside other ASTRO members and various K-pop artists, released a moving tribute song titled Memory of the Moon. This piece pays homage to Moonbin, who tragically passed away on the same date in 2023 at just 25 years old. While this heartfelt tribute resonated with many, it was met with some disdain, as detractors accused Eunwoo of “capitalizing on the deceased for profit.”However, his loyal supporters quickly defended him, emphasizing the authenticity of his grief and sincerity.

Additionally, fans shared that Eunwoo had given luxury bracelets to all 22 participating artists as a token of appreciation for their tribute to Moonbin. This disclosure has led to further outrage against those spreading unfounded hate and attempts to diminish Cha Eunwoo’s intentions.

Continued Demands for Artist Protection

As a demonstration of their support, international fans continued their advocacy by sending protest trucks to Fantagio’s office. One notable message on the trucks read:

“Fantagio, come to your senses. Don’t just think about making money—you have to protect Cha Eunwoo as well. The fans will continue to watch over you. Do well.”

Earlier, Fantagio had released an artist protection notice detailing safety measures through their official fan café on March 31. However, fans believe that more stringent and effective actions are crucial to genuinely safeguard their artists from online harassment, stalking, and the spread of misinformation.
