Jungkook Victimized by $5.76 Million Stock Fraud
In an unfortunate incident, Jungkook fell victim to a financial scam while serving his mandatory military duty. On January 6, 2024, a hacker illegally accessed his HYBE shares, which were valued at approximately 8.44 billion KRW (around $5.76 million). Reports indicate that the hacker created three securities accounts under Jungkook’s name to facilitate this fraud.
The hacker unlawfully transferred 33,500 HYBE shares from Jungkook’s account. Of these shares, 500 were sold, while the remaining 33,000 shares retained a value of around 8.316 billion KRW. In February 2025, the Seoul Western District Court ruled in his favor, declaring the fraudulent transactions invalid and ordering the return of the stolen stocks.
