Fans Respond: BTS’ Taehyung’s Friend Levi Unveils Ghibli AI Renderings of Their Photos Featuring Yeontan

On March 30, 2025, Kim Taehyung, a member of globally renowned K-pop group BTS, saw a heartfelt tribute unfold when his close friend Levi released a collection of AI-generated visuals that creatively reinterpreted beloved moments with Taehyung’s late dog, Yeontan, in the iconic Studio Ghibli style.

Yeontan, a black and tan Pomeranian, was more than just a pet to Taehyung; introduced to fans in 2017, he quickly became a cherished figure within the community. The adorable dog often featured in Taehyung’s vlogs, social media updates, and even music videos. However, the loss of Yeontan in December 2024 left a sorrowful gap not only in Taehyung’s life but also in the hearts of numerous fans who adored the little canine.

The release of Levi’s AI art generated a wave of emotions among fans across the globe, who were thrilled to see Yeontan and Taehyung depicted together once again. Many fans took to social media to express their wishes for the original photographs accompanying these creative renditions. One fan captured the sentiment well by posting:

“Thank you Levi, Now we need the originals please”

As excitement spread, social media was inundated with requests for the original images, showcasing the enthusiasm and affection fans held for both Taehyung and his furry friend.

“Levi knows Taehyung’s love for Ghibli artworks,”another fan wrote.

“Post the real pics levi,”another fan added.

Levi’s fun and spirited personality did not go unnoticed. Many fans described him as the quintessential “chaotic fun friend”that everyone needs in their life:

“A BESTIE THROUGH AND THROUGH LOOK AT THEM MY BABIESSSSSSSS. YEONTAAAAAAAAAAN,”a fan reacted.

“DOES HE WANT ME TO CRY,”another fan remarked.

“Levi is so unserious in the best way lmao he’s that one chaotic fun friend everyone needs,”another fan added.

However, not all feedback was positive. A segment of fans voiced concerns regarding the ethical implications of Levi’s participation in the Studio Ghibli-inspired AI trend. Critics pointed out potential copyright issues and referred to Hayao Miyazaki, the esteemed co-founder of Studio Ghibli, who has publicly expressed his opposition to AI in animation:

“Don’t make ai it’s an insult to an artist who hardwork what happens if ai will generate ur idols voice.”

“Making ai ghibli art of taehyung who has so many amazing ghibli arts created by actual artists??????”questioned a fan.

“There are literally thousands of tweets against this bc the creator of ghibli himself despises ai. Can you please be considerate and delete this,”a fan asked Levi.
