BTS’ Jin sent heartfelt greetings for Chuseok, the Korean Thanksgiving, through an emotional video message that resonated with fans. On September 16, the opening day of Chuseok, Jin released a video for fans via the BANGTAN TV YouTube channel.
In the video, the “Moon”singer donned a traditional hanbok and encouraged fans to enjoy the Chuseok festivities while recognizing their hard work over the past year. He expressed:
“Our ARMY who have worked so hard until now, I would like to tell you, ‘great job’! I would also like to create great memories together for the rest of 2024. Enjoy lots of delicious holiday food. I hope you spend Hangawi (Chuseok) full of happiness with your loved ones.”
This year, Jin was the sole member appearing in the festive video, as the other BTS members—RM, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—are currently serving in the military. Fans were particularly moved to see Jin celebrating without his fellow members.
“No way he’s celebrating chuseok alone this year without the members?: < I’m crying,”one fan shared.
“HAPPY CHUSEOK to everyone. This year we don’t get a live but a cute message from Jnnie missing 0t7 a lot. Always be healthy and happy. Wishing you Happy Chuseok,”another fan noted.
“Happy Chuseok, Jin. Stay healthy, you’ve worked hard so please rest well (Btw, when the title says BTS but it’s just Jin alone… I miss them all together so much),”added another fan.
Fans continued to express similar feelings.
“Jin doing Chuseok greetings alone. I’m just going to focus on this man and his work and continue supporting Yoongi on WV from now on. He’s been working so hard,”one fan wrote.
“Jin having to do greetings for Chuseok alone ‘2-3 BANG TAN ANNYEONGSEYO’ is my 13th reason,”commented another X user.
“He did. …. the greeting….. by… himself… I WANT MY FKN FAMILY BACK,”expressed another fan.
Netizens voiced their longing to see all seven members together.
“It’s Monday morning and I’m in my BTS feels. That Chuseok greeting with Jin alone made me happy but also made me miss them all together even more,”one fan mentioned.
“Jin doing Bangtan greetings alone hurts…. Has it really been 2 years since we last saw them together for Chuseok?! Though apart, I hope they find peace under the same moon (including my favorite Yoongi Chuseok video, because we could all use a smile),”another fan shared.
“Just seeing Jin alone in hanbok for Chuseok made me feel a lot of things,”another fan commented.
BTS’ Jin Celebrates Pre-Chuseok with Celebrity Chef Lee Yeon-bok
Before the 2024 Chuseok celebrations commenced, Jin had dinner with star chef Lee Yeon-bok, a close friend of the BTS member. The renowned South Korean chef shared their time together via his social media.
On Sunday, September 15, the chef posted a picture of the two posing together on his Instagram. According to the post, they dined together in Yeouido, Seoul, where Jin treated the chef to the meal, mentioning that Lee Yeon-bok would cover the bill next time.
For those unfamiliar, Chuseok is a significant holiday in Korea celebrating family reunions and traditional Korean cuisine in gratitude for ancestors. This year, Chuseok is observed from September 16 to September 18, 2024.
Previously, Jin and Lee Yeon-bok appeared together on the variety show “Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island.”
