Fans Celebrate 4-Year Reunion of j-hope with LUMPENS Director’s Son from BTS’ Permission to Dance Music Video

On April 8, 2025, j-hope of BTS delighted fans by sharing moments from his spectacular concert in Los Angeles during the Hope on the Stage World Tour at BMO Stadium. His heartfelt caption read:

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you,”as translated by Google.

Among the many snapshots he posted, fans were particularly touched by a heartwarming image of j-hope embracing a child. This child was revealed to be Lumpens, the talented music video director Yong-seok Choi, who had previously appeared in BTS’s Permission To Dance music video released in 2021.

For those unfamiliar, Lumpens is recognized as the leader of a video production company that bears his name. Under his direction, the firm has produced a number of BTS’s iconic music videos, including I Need You, Fire, Blood Sweat and Tears, Spring Day, and Permission to Dance.

Recently, Lumpens also shared a delightful photo alongside his family at j-hope’s LA concert, which ignited a wave of nostalgia among fans on social media. Many expressed their astonishment at how much his son has grown since their last appearance together.

“I didn’t even recognize Lumpens’s son because of how much he’s grown up. Can’t believe it’s been 4 years,”commented a fan on X.

This sentiment was echoed across various social media platforms, as fans reminisced about Lumpens’s son and how he has matured into a young boy. Comments such as the following highlighted this emotional moment:

“He grew up fast; seeing BTS with the families of their staff is something special,”wrote another fan.

“Lumpens’s little boy is adorable and was in the PTD video too! He has grown so much!”exclaimed a fan.

“Lumpens’s son is so big now…? He was only on Jungkook’s hip while filming the PTD MV yesterday,”remarked another fan.

The emotional reunion brought about feelings of nostalgia, with one fan commenting that Lumpens’s son has literally grown up alongside BTS. The moment resonated deeply, prompting some to consider it a lasting memory.

“MY HEART! THIS HUG IS SO PRECIOUS. THE WAY HOBI HUGS WITH HIS ENTIRE SELF. This kid is Lumpens’s son; he literally grew up with BTS and has participated in several projects with the members,”reacted another fan.

“Hobi’s welcome home tour is making me all kinds of emotional. Not only is it historical, but it also encapsulates the rich history he shares with Lumpens, his son, and Team j-hope. They have supported Hobi throughout his journey to perform on the grand stage,”wrote yet another fan.

“This moment between Hobi and Lumpens’ son feels like it could be a core memory,”commented another fan.
