The couple purchased a modest home in Gary, Indiana, where they raised their nine children, although one tragically passed away shortly after birth.
Their six sons—Michael, Tito, Jermaine, Jackie, Marlon, and Randy—along with three daughters—Rebbie, La Toya, and Janet—were heavily influenced by their parents. While Joe continued earning a living as a crane operator, Katherine dedicated herself to raising the children. Jackie Jackson remained active with the band, releasing solo albums and founding multiple record companies in Las Vegas. He continued to tour with his brothers in the 2010s and boasts a family of four children.
Jermaine Jackson’s time with the Jackson 5 was punctuated by a brief solo career. After a split from the group, he released 13 studio albums, the last of which came out in 2012. His ventures into reality television and memoir writing complement his musical achievements.
Marlon Jackson took a different path, focusing less on music after a 1987 solo album. His business interests include real estate and philanthropy through the Study Peace Foundation, which aims to foster community unity. Marlon is the proud father of three and grandfather to six.
Randy Jackson, who joined The Jacksons in 1975, is a talented musician in his own right. Apart from his work with the band, Randy has helped launch his sister Janet’s independent label and released his own music.
Janet Jackson, the most successful of the female siblings, transitioned from acting to music with remarkable success.
