SBS will kick off the series by airing two back-to-back episodes on May 7, followed by weekly broadcasts every Wednesday. This exciting new drama is directed by Kim Sung-yong, known for his unique visual storytelling in hit series such as Black Sun and Lovers.

Notably, this series marks SBS’s return to the coveted Wednesday drama slot, a time slot that was last utilized before they discontinued the Wednesday-Thursday format post-Secret Boutique in 2019. MBC has also explored this programming strategy with its recent offering, A Good Day to Be a Dog, featuring popular star Cha Eun-woo.

The Storyline of Spring of Youth

Spring of Youth revolves around Sa-gye, a gifted vocalist and guitarist from a leading K-pop band, The Crown, who unexpectedly finds himself out of the band. Faced with the challenges of restarting his life, he enrolls at Hanju University, a choice made by his management that lands him in a new and unpredictable environment.

At university, Sa-gye crosses paths with Kim-bom, a promising music student and the lead vocalist-keyboardist of the band Tusagye. Once aspiring for an Ivy League education, Bom pivoted to music after the loss of her mother, emerging as a talented composer. The two characters’ journeys converge as they explore budding romance and the formation of a new band. However, competition arises from Seo Tae-yang, the acclaimed guitarist from Tusagye, which infuses the narrative with rivalry and emotional depth.

The drama artfully navigates themes of youthful aspiration, romance, and musical passion against the lively backdrop of university life.
