Happy Egg, renowned for its organic and free-range eggs, has expanded its product range with the introduction of Pasture-Raised Eggs. This exciting new offering was announced in an official press release dated April 8, 2025, following the company’s strategic merger with Egg Innovations— a leader in pasture-raised egg production—completed in October 2024.
The Pasture-Raised Eggs are packaged in convenient 12-count cartons and are initially available at retailers across California, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington. Consumers in other states can expect to find these eggs in stores soon, although pricing information has not yet been disclosed by the company.
Commitment to Animal Welfare: American Humane Certification
Founded in 2012, Happy Egg has built its reputation on a commitment to animal welfare and high-quality egg production. The brand collaborates with more than 100 independent family farms located throughout the Ozarks and the Midwest to deliver a variety of eggs, including free-range, organic, and heritage options.
With the launch of its pasture-raised eggs, Happy Egg aims to further enrich its offerings. Whitney Fortin, the brand’s Chief Marketing Officer, expressed the company’s mission in the recent press release, stating:
“Our pasture-raised eggs reflect everything Happy Egg stands for: exceptional care for our hens, rich yolks that look and taste incredible, and food that brings joy to the table. This launch is about giving families even more to love when they reach for Happy Egg.”
The recent merger with Egg Innovations provided Happy Egg with enhanced resources such as additional farms, a feed mill, and a specialized packing and distribution center. Notably, Egg Innovations is recognized for its regenerative farming practices, and it also produces organic pasture-raised eggs under the Helpful Hens label.
This integration has enabled Happy Egg to broaden its product line, now featuring American Humane Certified pasture-raised eggs. Remarkably, Happy Egg was the first commercial free-range egg producer in the United States to earn this certification in 2015.
Key Attributes of Happy Egg’s New Pasture-Raised Eggs
While Happy Egg has perfected its free-range eggs, the new pasture-raised variety surpasses even those standards. These eggs are produced under stricter guidelines, enhancing their quality and nutrition.
According to the brand’s announcement, the hens that lay these eggs are raised on expansive pastures that span 50 acres, allowing them the freedom to roam and forage for natural foods. The company’s dedication to transparency is evident in their description of the farms:
“On our American Humane Certified pasture-raised farms, each hen enjoys 108 square feet of lush open pasture—plenty of room to roam, forage, and soak up the sunshine. It’s a difference you can see and taste inside every shell.”
Nutritionally, each egg contains 6g of protein and 70 calories, with zero trans fat. They are packaged in biodegradable yellow cartons, and while currently available in four states, consumers can soon expect these pasture-raised eggs to come to retail locations nationwide. Additionally, customers are encouraged to utilize the store locator feature on the official Happy Egg website for availability updates.
In addressing the current egg shortage, the company has reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with more farmers to ensure a steady supply of quality eggs, thus meeting the increasing demand.
